how many moms vaccinated

We have opted to wait until our son is around 2 years old to vaccinate. When that time comes, we are going to leave out the chicken pox vaccine. It is a hard decision to make, but i suggest that you do some reading of only credible sources. Don't let other people tell you what to do as this is a decision you have to make for yourself. Either way, people will have an opinion if you do decide to vaccinate or not, but don't let that influence you!

I vaccinated my son two days ago. It was incredibly emotional for me, and he was pretty fussy for the last 36 hours. Howeve, because I'm a scientist with a background in microbiology, I would NEVER consider, even for a moment, not vaccinating my baby. First, the body of medical research is extensive and demonstrates that vaccines are safe and necessary. Second, because so many people in my area are so uneducated about the issue, I can no longer rely on the herd immunity that would otherwise be reliable. Third, because even though infections like the measles are not deadly, they can be for an infant whose immune system is totally immature and undeveloped. And, finally, because I have seen, firsthand from my own field research in areas o the world that don't have access to vaccines the devastation that some of these illnesses can cause. There's no way I would subject my baby to that.
