Hello to all mommys,
my son is now 3months n 2weeks old and he did eat the whole time 6oz every 4hours but now i have the feeling it isnt enough for him anymore so i gave him 8 usally he shouldnt come every 4hours anymore n a lil later righty?How much do ur baby eat with that age im kinda scared 8oz is to much cause he weight 12 n half pounds.

Most babies eat frequently. Some every 2 hours. So every 4 hours is good and that shouldn't change for a while. Babies need to eat frequently than the 3 times a day that we adults eat our meals. The average is 6 times a day if they sleep through the night (6+ hours).
My daughter eats 5 times a day now at 9 months and is the average weight and height for her age now.

You take his weight and multiply by 2.5 and you get the amount your baby should be eating.
12X2.5=30
So your son should be consuming around 30 ounces of formula a day.
My daughter was 12 ponds at 6 months (she is petite and was born a month early) and she was consuming 5 oz bottles 6 times a day. She ate every 3 hours.
She is 9 months now and has 6 oz at her bottle feeds at one point she was eating 8 oz but that only lasted a few days then she went back to 6 oz.
Look for fullness cues (won't open for nipple to go in, turns head, turns head and squirms, he looks like he is frustrated when you try to feed him more, he chews on the nipple instead of sucks)
If his feeding schedule gets thrown off ( he eats every 2 or 3 hours instead of every 4 hours) that can be a clue that he should have had more formula at his feed.
