How many weeks were you when you went into labor?

I know all women are different but it is always interesting to compare with other moms.

I'm 33 weeks and going to attempt a VBAC; which I am very excited for if my body will go into labor on it's own.

i had my daughter at 34 weeks went into labour due to having sex. (sorry to be so personal lol) i was in full labour for 15 hours. yes it did hurt but like shaina i loved it and would go through it again. good luck!

The doctors wanted to induce me at 41 weeks 3 days but I refused. My mother had a history of long gestation (I was born almost 4 weeks overdue) and I still felt fine, baby's heartbeat was regular and strong, plenty of movement etc. The docs gave me such a hard time and tried to bully me into an induction, but I was well informed, had done plenty of research on the topic and had the support of my midwife (plus I am a nurse, so am used to dealing with pushy doctors). I went into spontaneous labour at 41 weeks 5 days and had a drug free natural vaginal birth. I'm so glad that I listened to my body and stood my ground.

First one was breech, so they planned a c-section at 37 weeks, but I went into labor a few days before. The second I had a VBAC almost on the due date, went perfectly well. Good luck!

Let me know how it goes!! I just had a c-section but really wanted to have a natural birth. I think I would like to try a VBAC with my next but I have heard some things, like its hard to find a doctor who will do it and there is a good chance of having another c-section because of the same reason you had the last. So just let me know how everything goes and I wish you the best of luck!!!

My daughter was born at 41 weeks. Long hard labour but so worth the pain. My little angel is now 6 months old and I couldn't be happier. I would go through it again a million times to have her.

I was 41.5 weeks, I ended up being Induced and had a Natural Delivery.

[deleted account]

My daughter was born on due date. Had a show at 3am in the morning, followed by period pain which over the day and into the night got gradually more intense. Had my waters broken at 3am the next morning just to get things really going. She was born at 7.30am that morning - 100% drug free. My son was born 42 weeks 4 days. My waters broke at 1am in the morning. I was put on IV antibiotics (for infection) as I didn't want an induction. These were administered every 4 hours but I could leave the birth unit in between. Started getting very slow but intense contractions about 3am the next morning. Active labour started around 10am and he was born at 2pm - 100% drug free. All labours are different. Our littlies arrive when they are good and ready. Good luck with the VBAC. Don't let them (DR's etc) rush you into making a decision you don't have to make or want. Give your body time to do it's thing.

38 weeks and 2 days for me, my water never broke until i started to push, and i was getting contractions from 11am and didn't think i was in labor so i went shopping and out for lunch, but soon realised a few hours later my contractions were 2 minutes apart so i thought i better get home, lol. 6 1/2 hours later my baby boy was born all i had was a pethidine injection to help relax me between contractions. good luck the outcome is soooo worth any pain you may feel!

Mine started a day after I was due - felt like mild period pain. this went on for 24 hours or so, but was hardly noticeble - at 6pm it started getting stronger and felt like bad period pain but I was able to manage it by standing and swaying. Went to hospital at 6am when contractions were roughly 2 mins apart (had felt happy to stay at home until then) My son was born at 11am with the help of gas and air only. I found my sons birth to be a really positive experience and recommend lots of movement while in labour.

First child came at 39 weeks, 2nd child was 38 weeks 3 days, 3rd child was 38 weeks. 1st boy I had demerol and don't remember anything, 2nd one is a girl and she came with phentynol, 3rd is a boy and he came in 2 hours! Needless to say I didn't have time to get anything, barely had time to get to the hospital...my mom was running red lights to avoid getting her 4th grandchild in the car!!! All things considered, I preferred my 3rd child's method of coming into this world! Faster is OK with me, I felt better and the baby had less chance to get any problems from being born, like conehead. All 3 of mine were born naturally, but my sister had a c-section because her son's head was too big for the birth canal.

40 weeks... my daughter was born the day before her due date, my water broke the morning before that. And ummm I loved my epidural.... my contractions were one on top of the other, ending up with a c-section so I'm also glad I opted for it, I don't think I coulda handled how intense and close the contractions were without it. I also had pictocin because of my water breaking, apparently that makes the contractions worse (or so I've read on a couple threads on here)

40 weeks. My daughter was born on her due date! I had to have pitocin because my water broke, but my contractions didn't come together. Did it all with no drugs, although I didn't love it like Shaina :) I did, however, love the outcome.

It was three days short of 40 weeks when I went into labor. I LOVED it. I know it sounds weird but labor was actually fun, and I did it without any drugs : ) GOOD LUCK and enjoy!

I was 37 weeks and my water broke in my sleep and woke me up at 6am. Went to the hospital and they induced me at midnight because I still hadn't had any contractions. Since I was induced and induction causes a very different, more intense labor, I am also excited to see what my body will do during a natural labor with my second child who is due in January.
