my son ate 4 ounces at 2 weeks, it all depends on how fast you baby gets full.

My daughter would sleep all night and stay awake all day and would take 4 oz every 3-4 hours and my doctor said that was fine. Your baby will tell you if they are still hungry or full. If the baby is spitting up a lot when feeding cut back and try rice cereal in the bottle just to see if baby might have a little bit of reflux. Again that is what my doctor said. (I have a doctor that answers a LOT of questions).

Most newborns drink between 60 and 150 mls (2 to 5 ounces according to google converter) every 3 hours. However feeding every 2 or 4 hours is also considered normal, just less common. As you can see there is a big range in whats normal. I suggest you let your baby drink as much as they want and feed whenever they are hungry. Also be aware of the 3, 6 and 12 week old growth spurts when some babies feed as often as every hour for a few days.

remember they have tiny tiny tummies, start with around 3 ounces and go from there. if hes still hungry feed a bit more, and if he wont stop eating ask a doctor. im sure he will but some dont. i know my friends 1 month old used to take an eight ounce bottle if given to her, and would only puke a bit up with her burp. every baby was different but she had to start feeding her baby some baby cereal because she was eating too much.

Feed baby as often as he or she is hungry! If baby is content after a feeding then, baby had enough to eat, if still fussy feed baby more.

you should really call ur pediatrician if you're concerned. however, most babies that young only take about 2-3 ounces every 3 hours. as long as the baby is peeing and pooping fine, and not losing weight, it's getting enough. congratulations on the new little one!
