I use q-tips...but I take some of the cotton off the tip because it's too big for such a little nose.   It's a great way to get the nose clean when its not runny...then its good to use the nasal aspirator.

GET A GERBER NASAL ASPIRATOR IT HAS A SMALLER TIP TO SUCTION OUT THE STUFF IN THERE NOSE , BUT SOMETIMES THEY CRY BECAUSE IT IS AN UNCOMFORTABLE FEELING BUT THE HOSPITALS USE THEM ALOT MORE AND THE BABIES ARE FREAKING OUT WHEN THE DO IT. BUT IT'S OK IF THEY CRY I HAVEN'T MET A BABY YET WHO LIKES TO GET THERE NOSE CLEAN, BUT YOU GOTTS DO IT SO THAT THEY CAN GET SOME RELIEF.

I use a baby wipe when the nose is dry and sore and dont wipe it to hard.  Or I have baby q-tips (small tip like adults then bigger so you dont go to deep in the ear ones).  My LO doesnt really like that either but we have to do what needs to be done. So I suggest waiting til LO is asleep.

I used a cotton bud or cotton tip (im not sure if there called something else in America). Because there easy to use and gentle on there little noses while there younger. I personally still dont like using the suction thing and he hates me using it on him. As they do. Although the saline (salt water solution) drops do help with losening it up. Hope that's of some help for ya goodluck!

Hey Aileen- I use the nasal bulb (I guess it's called an aspirator?) on my son... I took it home from the hospital but I know they have them everywhere to buy. I use it on my sone while in the bath... he doesn't like it much but takes it better when he's in the bath and the water also helps loosen everything up. Hope this helps!
