I am having trouble getting my almost 4 month old son to sleep on his own. He only sleeps well if he is on or near me. We have tried swaddling, heart beat bear, music in the room and crying it out, with limited success. He is also not nap unless he is on me. We have started a routine to get him to sleep at 7:30pm but usually don't get him to sleep until 10:30-11pm. I don't know what to do?

No, mine did the same thing. My doctor always told me to lay them down while they were still awake. I never thought it worked. Heck NOTHING worked for me lol. My daughters were pains in the behind as babies. The second I laid them down they would wake up, they cried a ton, they had acid reflux etc.....

Ok thanks, I will try that then. Any ideas on how to get him to sleep alone. Anytime I move him, he wakes up. Doesn't matter if it is a nap or sleeping. It works better late at night but doesn't always work

Yes, it's the late nap time. There is virtually no way he's going to bed at 7:30 if he's napping at 4:30-5:30.
I actually woke mine up early, had them nap at 9, 12 and 3. Then be in bed around 7:30-8. It didn't always work that way, but by God I tried.

He naps around 4:30-5:30pm. He still sleeps in in the morning, till around 10am, that is really the only time we get good sleeps.

This is pretty normal unfortunately. Both of my daughters did the same thing to me and I hear it from new moms ALL the time. Try your best to get him into a routine. If you are trying at 7:30 to get him to sleep, and he's not going to bed until 10:30 then just don't try until 9 or so.
What time are his naps? What time does he wake in the morning? I found that late naps were the culprit. When they were newborns I would let them sleep whenever, but when they started getting older I made a routine. Otherwise I got NO sleep.
