i am 35 wks pregnant.... lots of pain!! help!

thanks everyone. they havent really told me much. i definately know ive already dilated 2 cm but that was 3 wks ago so thats why i kinda worry. i havent had any show.... ive had brown in my discharge and its definately increased...... maybe the mucus plug?



our ob drs here are worthless. i have seen the same nurse 2 times during my pregnancy but never seen the same dr or midwife... they said that its because we dont have a specific dr to deliver us we get whoever is on call. my husband is military and our base doesnt have a full service hospital so i have to go in town. so there is no other option. i really am just ready to have the baby and be done with all of this. this pain just doesnt seem to let up anymore! but thanks so much for the help i really appreciate it.

I had the same ... the baby drops and moves into position - the ligaments have to soften in that area and also you are probably started to dialate some .. the cervix shortens etc. It is all very uncomfortable. I would go to your OB just to be sure - but when I was at 35 weeks I was complaining all the time .. that is what was going on with me. It differs for everyone ... but I had this incredible pressure and sharp pain in the vaginal area and then it just ached everywhere else. The ligaments were softening .. and my cervix was getting ready .. babies head pushing on it .. very painful. I also developed painful carpal at about 32 weeks ... same thing. The chemical that allows those ligaments to stretch also affect the ligaments elsewhere. Hang in there ..

Call your OB if you have one and tell them you think you may be in labour. Do you have any showing (pink discharge or blood) when you go to the washroom? If you do then you are definitely in labour and should go to the birthing suite at your hospital. Good luck! Keep us updated!

I went through something that sounds similar with my daughter right before I went into labor. I had lots of pressure, pain, and being just uncomfortable overall. Most of it was low in my pelvis, but as it went on, I started getting it in my hips and lower back too. I went in to the doctor to get checked out and they told me the same thing as Emily- that my daughter was just engaging further into my pelvis (I even began dialating a bit too.) - basically, everything was getting ready for labor. It could just be that or you may be starting braxton-hicks or even some mild pre-labor contractions (they can start hours to several days before you go into true labor- I had them for almost 3 weeks).



I'd suggest calling your doctor or just going to the delivery ward to get checked out... this close to your due date, calling and going there can never be the wrong decision. Worst case, they tell you it's normal and you just go home again- maybe with something to help you relax more through the pain... flip side, you're in labor and dialating enough to be admitted and you'll be saying hi to your baby a bit sooner than you thought.... either way, atleast you'd know for sure. I dont think i replied correctly then - the first time i have done this. In my last weeks of pregnancy i wsa in agony. It hurt around my vagina and in my hips, it was painful to sit, stand or walk. i could only really lie down. Does this sound the same? If so i called a doctor out and he said i had a swollen pelvis due to the pressure the baby was putting on me as he was now engaged. It really did hurt. I got signed off work and just had to stay lay down for the remainder of the pregnancy (although there were a few days when it did not hurt as much so i could do my nesting). Get the doctor to come out and see you. Hope this helps - let me know how you get on.

Have you contacted your OB? If not call and see what your dr., says or maybe speak to one of the nurses there in the office.

i have been having sharp pains when i move and dull pain any other time around where you would feel babys head in my lower abdomen... baby hasnt been moving as much and idk why im in so much pain. i cant sleep i cant eat much HELP ME i need solutions to the pain and or advice of what to do *go to the hospital or relax and dont do anything :S*
