My little one is 8 weeks now and I only stopped bleeding 3 days ago. I was so pleased to see the back of it! And yes you can certainly get pregnant now. My health visitor banged on and on about contraception at my last visit!

Yes, from what I know it is yes. I had a friend that went to her 6 week check up and was pregnant!!! I mesn everyone is different but I asked my doc and she said yes...so I guess I'd just be careful. Also I only bled for 4 weeks with my daughter and 2 weeks son but I have known girls to bleed for 7 to 10 weeks.

I was usually bleeding at my 6 wk postpartum checkup. My SIL went in for hers and her Dr told her she was ovulating already, she could get pregnant so use protection.
The reason they tell you to wait 6wks is your cervix is still open and you can get infections easier. They probably don't want you to get pregnant that soon either.

It's definetly not too soon for you to get pregnant! If you don't plan on having another one so soon, I would def get on some form of birth control or use protection. As far as the bleeding, I really think it depends on your body how big the baby was and so on, I bled for at least a month after I had my little girl, she was my 1st. if your really worried I would get ahold of your ob and ask them,

I bled for 6 weeks after I had my daughter. It eventually lightened and then stopped. As for getting pregnant... a friend of mine got pregnant again a week before her 6 week check-up... she didn't think she could get pregnant that early but she did!

You can get pregnant I believe right after you give birth. I know women who have babies that are only 10/11 months apart! Crazy thing is... your technically pregnant for 10 months!!!! 4wks are in a month, 40 weeks of pregnancy is 10 months.
The bleeding is normal... are you breastfeeding? I breastfeed and I only bled for about 3 weeks. However, even after those 3 weeks I would bleed after sex sometimes.

Some of my friends bled for 6 weeks. I bled for 4. Another bled for 2. Everybody's different. As long as you're not passing big clots, you're fine. It's just annoying, isn't it?
Also, who knows when you're fertile again? Some people can get their period when the baby is 2 months old, and some after a whole year has passed! Breastfeeding usually delays it, but I have a niece who was born only a year after her sister, since her parents thought that nursing was a form of birth control. It's different for everybody. You'll find out two week AFTER you become fertile, when you get your period. And if you get pregnant so soon after having a baby, that's not good for your body, to say nothing about your mental health! To be safe, you need to use condoms, or some other form of birth control. I know they're not as comfy as using nothing, but is having two babies in one year comfy? No it is not. It's well worth it to avoid that situation. Good luck, and congratulations!
