Babies don't have to be swaddled but I found that it really did help my daughter to sleep better. We stopped swaddling her when she was almost 5 months old. It is really up to you, I always worried about putting loose blankets in her crib with her to keep her warm so I always made sure she was wearing appropriately warm pajamas and let her sleep without blankets.

I plan to swaddle my baby as long as it seems to provide comfort to her. Once she stops liking it then I won't do it anymore.

My daughter hated the swaddle since we brought her home. She is three weeks old now. When we put her to bed we just wrap a blanket around her like a swaddle, but loosely and leaving her arms out so she can wiggle. She hated being tightly wrapped. She sleeps much better now that she isn't struggling to get her arms out. She is also in a sleep gown too so her legs can wiggle. Good Luck!

My daughter is 2 1/2 months and she seems to be getting too big for the swaddle. I just didn't know if I just really be putting a blanket in there with her

they can be in nighties from day 1 if thats what u want to do, my son was. In the hospital i put him into his first nighty and would either wrap him or put blankets over him and he was fine (he's almost 13 months now)-- He was born at the end of summer so it was still quite warm.

well I agree. If they are swaddled from the begining then they like the tightness till about the time they are too big for it which mine quit at about 6-7 weeks. so now just socks and jammies and a nice warm heavy blanket so he doesn't startle himself awake and hes now 11 weeks

hi how are u going? I was wondering how old is your daughter? i have 2 boys one is almost 3 and the other is 1 and they boys sleep in pjs when its summer i have them in singlits and boxers and in winter long sleve shirt and long paints and my youngest also has a sleeping bag in winter. I pretty much did this from the start. I mean it all depends on when u feel it is right as well as well as if your house is cold or warm at night or if u have aircons on but i think u should do it when u feel it is okay to xoxox
