I think she might be teething. Drooling, chewing on her fist and the plastic part of her paci. Now she has diarrhea and sometimes a low temperature. I know the drooling and chewing is normal, but what about the diarrhea and temp?

Also, try giving your baby a soft babies cloth to chew, after dipped in apple juice and placed in the freezer.

They may enjoy teething on it (feels cool, refreshing and yummy!!!).

Diarrhea and a temp. can all be a part of teething, but I would talk to your pediatrician

just to be sure. They may have more important questions to ask you, just to be sure

Diarrhea and temp also go right along with teething. The thing I find that helps my children when they are or were teething is give a dose of tylenol and some teething tablets. The teething tablets can be found in Wal-Mart in the Baby Dept probably right around the bottles and stuff. Another pain with teething is that a child can also get ear infections so just watch for that too.

My son was the same way, but it was only the teethe comin up and going back down. He never got his first toothe in until he was 9 mon. and now he only has two and is 10 and a half mon. But all of that is normal u just need to keep them hydrated and make sure they don't get a high temp, teethig tablets helped amazingly and baby tylenol, ur peiatrician prob told u the amount ur baby can have. Hope to help.

All the other mom's gave you great advice!! Just wanted to let you know all of the symptoms that your daughter is experiencing are all signs of teething. At least that is what my son's doctor told me. Watch the fever though because with small children if it gets to high they can go into a seizure. I know a mother that that happened to and her son quit breathing and had to stay in the hospital for several days. Good luck to you!! They never stop growing especially once they get them teeth lol

I havent tried it on myself, but what i have heard is that theres a tingley burning feeling that probably isnt too pleasant. Ive seen the razzberry and thought about getting it, but through the package i cant tell how hard or soft it is.

My daughter has been teething on and off since she was 2 months. I tried everything. Tylenol worked the best, but I would only give it at night. Try this soother/teether called a razberry. they have them at toys r us. she loves it because other teethers were too big or too hard. Also crushed ice in a baby sock was a big hit. Orajel just ticked her off big time. If you try it on yourself you'll see why.

Yah, Ethan hates all pacifier's. He gets up multiple times a night and I have to nurse him back to sleep, I thought I'd try giving him the soothie that he chews on, as soon as I put it in his mouth, he got a screwed up look on his face and pulled it out and threw it. So much for thinking he'll take a bink again.

My daughter is picky and only likes the 'Avent' or 'Mam' paci's. I tried giving her the soothies but she gets mad because its shaped like her bottle nipple, and nothing comes out of it so she throws it lol. She really hates the 'Nuk' ones (flat on the bottom) I have no idea why. A friend has told me that the regular baby orajel doesnt work, but the night time kind does. maybe they make it stronger to help babies fall asleep, I dont know?.. If she gets more fussy about it, i might try that. but, so far shes been okay.

I'm glad she's feeling better. My son has been chewing for 10 months straight. I wonder when he'll ever quit. LOL He quit using a pacifier at 5 months b/c he just started chewing on it instead of sucking on it. By the way, the big green round soothie pacifiers are great for teething. He loves his. Good luck with all the teeth to come!

Well, shes not dehydrated. The diarrhea is going away. Shes still chewing on everything, but she never gets too fussy about it. I give her the teething tablets when shes cranky and nothing else is wrong (dry diaper, been fed, not sleepy). I try not to give her tylenol unless she really needs it. Pretty much, only after she gets her shots Ill give it to her.

Unless she has really bad diarrhea she should be alright. My son who is 11 months is going through the same thing earlier he had a low temp and had 3 dirty diapers between early afternoon and this evening. Can you give her tylenol? I use teething tablets but when he's got a fever I use Tylenol too.

If she's got diarrhea then just make sure she's eating well, breast milk or formula. I copied this off kellymom.com signs of dehydration

fewer than 2 wet diapers in a 24-hour period

baby not behaving normally (more irritable, less active, sleeping more)

lethargy

listlessness

weak cry

no tears (in an infant older than 3 months)

dry mouth

skin that stays wrinkly-looking when pinched (pull up the skin on the front of the hand; it should pop easily back into place - not stay pinched or wrinkly-looking)

eyes that look sunken

cool, clammy extremities, especially the fingers and toes

fast breathing, or a heart that is beating faster than usual

fever

Her doctor told me not to give her water because shes too young, so what would i do if shes dehydrated, and how would i know?

That can be normal with teething also. Just keep an eye on her temp and make sure she doesn't get dehydrated which can happen quickly in babies.
