I would like another baby

I had my son in July 2009 and would now like to have another. Yes I know its close but its the way my mom did it and I loved being so close to my sister. I stopped breastfeeding about a month ago but as of yet have not got my period back. How long will it take to return and how likely am I to fall pregnant before it comes back?

I totally feel your "pain"! I want another baby, too. My little girl just turned one, but I've been off birth control, since she was nine months old. Unfortunately, nothing has happened! I'm hoping it's just because my body is still trying to readjust itself, but my period has been regular for a few months now......hopefully, your body decides to cooperate with your "plans" soon!

You can fall pregnant before your period comes back. I have a 10month old and I am 5months pregnant, we didn't plan to fall pregnant and i didn't think you could fall pregnant while breast feeding but well you can.

My mom breastfed me till 15 months and she became pregnant when I was 9 months. She never got her period back at all, and her milk never dried up. She says I made it easy for my brother to eat. 18 months apart was great, we were always pretty close. My daughter was born May 2009 and we would like to get started on the second pretty soon! :) Goodluck

You could get your period anytime, they will start when they want. And you can still get pregnant while your waiting for your period to come. Good luck. where in the same boat as trying for another baby, and i had my son in August

All I can say is good luck! Like the other ladies said it's all up to your body. I didn't have trouble conceiving both my kids while still nursing but I also had my periods back right away. Once you get your first period you can start charting your cycles on sites like fertilityfriend.com so see what your body's doing. That's what helped us conceive both times. And no, you're not crazy for wanting your kids ot be close in age. Mine are just a year and 8 days apart and I'm due to have our third just 16 months after our 2nd!

There is no way to really determine how quickly your period will return. It just depends on your body. When you're breastfeeding, your pituitary gland makes prolactin which is a substance that hinders ovarian function. It could take months or it could take years for your periods to return to normal; it all just depends on your body.
