I'm still breastfeeding and baby's 5mos old. I"m excluselvly though:( But she's still getting breastmilk. I'd like to get her to have more but I'm just waitting to see how long we'll keep it up because she's gotten teeth too...... so we'll see but I had some major struggles at first and I was even complimented by my ob's nurse the other day who did it for 4 weeks with her oldest.

i only fed my daughter for a few weeks due to bad advice and no support,i fed my son for over a year and i'm currently feeding my twin boys who are 7 months. it is different for everyone, feed for as long as you and your child feels it's right..

It worked perfect until she was 7 months old! She had surgery so that made it VERY difficult to feed her/pump since she was in the hospital but I would have went longer for sure!!

Our first went for 14 months and our second went for 18 months. Both stopped as they wanted to. Go for it as long as it is working for BOTH of you. As soon as one of you is done, it's okay to wrap it up. I would suggest for a full year though, as breastfeeding is FREE.

My daughter is almost 6 months and we're still going strong. Had issues in the beginning with having inverted nipples but things worked out for the best! I'm hoping to BF for at least a year depending on when I go back to work. She's having some issues at the moment with teething so refuses to nurse occasionally. Other than that it's all good :D

My second son I breastfeed up until 10 months of age. However, I only stopped because he were pregnant with our third child and I was not gaining weight and the baby was not thriving. Now that my third child is here and very healthy I plan on breastfeeding until he is around 15 months or so. If you can breastfeed as long as possible I truly recommend it.

I breast fed for about 3 weeks but I wasnt producing enough milk. so I had to start my daughter on formula. If i had produced enough I probably wouldve breastfeed for the first 4 months. i couldnt see breastfeeding a child until their 1.. they move too much haha

I wish I still breastfed. I breastfed (only breastfed) for a month but total was 3/4 months
I had so much milk it was great but for one week I was super tired and lazy and I didn't pump after that I had nothing :(

I breastfed my first 9 months, my second 15 months and I'm 9 weeks into my third. But I don't think she will nurse as long. It just doesn't seem to be going as smooth. I hope I can hang in there for a year but am not sure.

I wish I could exclusively breastfeed. I plan on doing it for a year at least but my son is 4 months and teething. Won't start cutting for a couple more months but it makes me nervous. :) BUT I am going to breastfeed as long as my son wants to. He'll wean himself. If it's something you really wanna do, go for it. Breast is best. :)

I've been breastfeeding for 11 months now. I plan on continuing until he's about a year old and then I will slowly wean him off. He bits me every now and then and it hurts very, very much!

yeah I am planning on breast feeding for as long as she wants. Its what is best for her and if you think about it even if she breast feeds until she is four it is still only a very small part of her life.

My son is 18 months old and still breastfeeding. He has just started to cut down how many times he feeds, up till last week he still fed around 5 times a day and now he is down to 3 or 4. I intended to only do it for 6 months and im really pleased that I am still doing it.

My daughter is almost 21 months and she self weaned right around 6 months......she had no interest once her first tooth cut through. I would have liked to continue until at least a year but I did continue pumping and bottle feeding her my milk till about 11 months!
