Hello my daughter is 5 and a half months and is also sitting on her own. I find the best toys are home made ones. Get a 600ml soft drink bottle 3/4 fill with water add food dye, glittter, screw the lid on and tape shut. Also do the same thing except no water and dye rice a bright colour to make one she can hear. My daughter loves these. I also made cornflour paint and added vegetable dye so she could paint. She loved it! Babies learn through their senses so anything noisy and colourful are great. There is no need to spend a lot of money on toys home made ones are wonderful, and besides, most babies prefer to interact with their parents that with theor toys. Although books are important too!!

My daughter is only 5 months at this point, but i would keep up with showing her books with bright colors, giving her a brightly colored toy as a goal when she's crawling (or trying to.) Toys that are soft and easy to grasp are good. Soft cloth books seem to always be a hit. Continue with things she can grab, and explore with her hands safely.

toys that are on wheels and are bright colours, so that she will enjoy pushing them around and try to crawl after them and the bright colours will be fascinating to her aswell and catch her eye. also toys with different shaped bricks and holes seem to be a good idea for children of that age
