Induced Birth for LGA baby?

I went in to be induced 2 and was told by people that an induced labour is more painful than a natural 1. However, i ended up with a section just because after having contractions for about 24 hrs I was physically knackered and was dilating very slowly. I had an epidural which was heaven coz the pains totally stopped yet i as watching them getting stronger on the machine!!

All i say hun is go for what u think and feel is right 4 u and ur baby, ignore any horror stories u hear, every birth is different! Good luck x

i was induced a week b4 my due date but for no reason...my daughter was only 6lbs. the night iw as induced it worked bcus 9 hrs later she was born...but this was my first so that was why it was so long...the inducing worked for me...and when i got the epidural then i went from 5 to 10 in an hour..but everyone is different my mom had 3 9lb almost 10lb kids normally and only 1 was induced and the induction did not work on her. but if it dont work on u most likely they will do a c-section

Hi i was induced at 39 weeks and my baby was 11lb 9ozs all went great so try not to worry and if ya have to have a section just gowith it as the most important thing is baby comes out healthy, i had to have section at end but had no probs . take care hope all goes well .

Also my first baby weighed 10lb 7oz

ans second weighed 10lb 81/2 ozs i had these with epidural not section so there is hope for vaginal delivery.

I was induced 2 weeks early for high blood pressure. I was only about half a centimeter dilated. I went into the hospital on a 10/28 around 7pm. They gave me the first round of misoprostol to soften my cervix (around 10 I think). They gave it to me every four hours. By the 3rd dose, I was in a lot pan and I wasn't even in active labor. I was still getting the menstrual cycle type cramps. I would get one, it would last 1 minute, I would get a minute long break and then get another. That went on for a few hours. I was only 21/2cm. They decided to get me an epidural early because I couldn't relax or calm down. I got the epi around 11 am. That did the trick. I went from a 2 1/2 to a 10 in about 4 hours. I started pushing around 3 and only had to push for an hour. They didn't even have to give me any pitocin.

So all in all it wasn't really that bad. My midwife said the misoprostol could take up to 24 hours to work.

i had the same problem,and was in labor for two days and still had a section,id opt for the section its alot easier and alot less painfull

I was induced (10 days late) with my first (son). They broke my water and I was hooked up the the Pitocen drip. My labor went fairly fast (for a first birth). Water broke at noon, had the baby in my arms at about 9:45 pm. I'm not going to lie, it was not pleasant in the least (I am comparing this to the all natural birth of my daughter, like night and day, her's was wonderful). I ended up with a shot or morphine which did nothing, and then I got the epidural. Good luck and I hope you don't end up with a c-section! (oh, I don't have little babies either lol, my son was also 8lbs 14oz, and my daughter was 10lbs!) great big chubby babes are wonderful!

Everyone is different. Babies all react different to pitocin. My daughter's heartrate dropped when I was given pitocin (I had gone in after my water broke, they gave me the pitocin to speed it up) I think the pitocin worked so well her heartrate dropped because I dilated so fast. I went from 4-10 cm in 2 hrs.

Every woman is different and so is every baby. The babies react different to different stimuli. It could work well for you, or not. Sometimes a c-section is the best bet and these days if you want to have a regular delivery for your 2nd child you are able to. it's not always once a C always a C like they used to do.

i wasnt dialating and they had to insert a balloon and that got me to 6cm then they did an emergency c-section

mayb u'll get lucky lik me!! dey put a cervadil n to soften n open up my cervix at 8pm n i had her at 5:26am the next mornin............they didnt even have to induced me, da cervadil trigered my labor....id didnt even hav time to get an epidural...n actually goin natural wasnt dat bad!! everybodys different n i hope everything goes well!!! I was induced 3 weeks early with my daughter due to my having type one diabetes. They induced me on a Monday morning and I had her Wednesday morning at 2:25am. I did a ton of walking on the Tuesday and my water actually broke at around 4:00pm on that day. Good luck!!

i was induced and they had 2 give me 2 of the pills but i liked being induced i was only at a half of a cent. i was in labor for 22 hours just relax and sleep thats all i did the whole time and it went great

I was induced, because of being overdue, not at all dialated, gestational diabets, and low blood pressure. Initially I had no problems being induced. It took right away, I had mild cramping initially which then grew somewhat into irregular contractions 15hours after being induced. I did have some complications because my son was not fully engaged I did not dialate to 10cm and my son ended up going into distress because he pooped in me. However, my friend was dialated 8 days before me and she had no problems what so ever. So everyone is different in that regard. I had to get a c-section in the end, but my friend delivered vaginally.

I was induced with my first baby, went in on a wed night they gave me everything they could to induce me nothing worked didn't dilate or anything. I ended up having my daughter sat morning via emergency c-section cause she went into stress and i was out of it all i remember is being wheeled down the hall into the surgery room and i recall my water breaking on the way there...

everyone is different though... you'll probably be fine. Anyone watch Kendra the playboy model, she had the same problem as you she had to be induced and it didn't work so they just decided to give her a c-section the baby weighed 10 pounds.Ive had two c-sections and im due in feb im having another they really arent that bad if you end up having to have one.I wouldn't worry over this just think it as this way your baby will finally be here and after all the confusion its all worth it at the end. I was induced with my son and I was only in labor for 7 hours! Everything went great. I also wasn't dialated and my son didn't drop. I went in around 7 and they inserted this pill. Around Noon they broke my water and I had my son just before 8pm. I also had the epidural because of the patocin.

the only thing i could reccomend is let them induce you and go home, i was induced and nothing happened i think it was because i didnt feel 100% relaxed at the hospital, i asked to go home for a bit and they agreed, i kept on my feet to encourage the head to engage further then within a few hours contractions started and he arrived the next day. You'll probley end up with a c section. Sorry! I was induce 3 times over 3 days, her head wasn't engaged either so the inductions didn't work. Good Luck!!!
