Is it gross to you, or love?

Hi, well i just a have a question, just in general i guess.

I went to a pregnancy group, and people came in with their 'new' babies, and one girl said to me.. she said.. "ohh when the baby came out, i told the midwife not to give it to me until it was cleanfrom all that goo and stuff"..

Im sorry, but seriously... i cannot be the only person in this world who hugged, kissed and loved their 'gooey' baby?

I birthed my baby- it was my hands that first touched her, and she was lifted to the air and to my chest by me. No one else. After carrying her in my womb for nearly ten months why in the world would I allow someone else to take her from my body and touch her skin before me?

No- up to my breast my gooey stunningly gorgeous daughter came.

Skin to skin contact with your baby straight after birth helps with bonding and breastfeeding and is so amazing and beautiful not gross at all just natural.

The thought of holding my baby after she just came out of me was a little disturbing. It didn't matter when I had her. I didn't care. I went through labor twice with her and got a scare after the nurse told me all the things that could possibly go wrong because she was coming early....after that kind of scare, a gooey baby is the last thing on your mind =] They got her and did clean her up a bit. I wasn't even thinking about it...I just knew she was ok because I heard her cry and that was it...I just wanted to hold her. She was mine and she was beautiful. She got a kiss from mommy and then she got taken away. Some people are comfortable with it, some aren't. If I had the time to choose, I would like my next baby to be cleaned to. It still doesn't appeal to me to have a gooey baby in my arms.

If I get the chance, i'm going to hold my baby all gooey as soon as i can.. i just can't wait to see his precious face and hear his little (but loud) cries.

They laid my daughter on my chest as soon as she was born even before her father cut the cord and I wouldn't have had it any other way!

I wish I could have held my son immediatly, but he wasnt breathing right away and his father didn't even get to cut the cord they had to immediatly hand him over to the respiratory therapist

for my first i didnt get him until he was all cleaned up but thats because i tore really really bad and they wanted to get me fixed up before i had him. for my 2nd my dr rubbed his face a bit then handed him to me. he was still pretty gooey but i didnt care. he was my baby! his one eye was closed shut because of all the crap and his hair was full of it! the nurse gave him a bath that night for me because he had quite a bit of stuff still on him..
