It's a type of snoring. It's perfectly normal. If it's not snoring, then just dreaming. My son did it when he snored but it changed pitch when it was a dream. Now he is 10 weeks and he just snores like a my husband! lol Congratulation on the new baby!!

I think it's fine. My daughter is 3 weeks old and she's been grunting since a few days. Now, she whimpers and whines and I think I've started hearing her babble in the last couple days. I don't know what causes it maybe they're dreaming. I think that's they're "voice." If so my daughter will probally talk in her sleep like I do.

hi my son is around the same age and has the same problem. I asked my midwife about it and she told me it was snoring, pretty strange for a new born. If ur worried u should call the hospital to get her checked out.

my little one does the same..she is 3months now. i dont know why she does it but she is fine so i dont worry.

if your using a dummy that stops the grunting as the dummy is in their mouth.
