Is it okay to have my 5.5 month old out in the wind?

I have a 5 and a half month old and I am very paranoid about taking him outdoors when it's windy in fear of him getting gassy from the wind. I have a plastic cover to go over our stroller, is this enough? My mom says this was a big concern back when she had us kids, is this something people are still concerned about? I see and hear of many people who don't seem concerned and have their children (even younger than ours) out all of the time, some covered and some not, am I just being over paranoid? Any input or thoughts are greatly appreciated .

I'm one of the moms that is always concerned about making sure my kids cover their heads n ears when its cold outside. My concern though is because of ear aches and possible ear infections. I agree with the other moms, gas not likely and he will let you know if it bothers him. I totally understand your concern, but just tune in to your baby n he will let u know what he needs n wants.

older people told me that my baby would be gassy in the wind. I asked them if they got gassy int he wind?

the only thing that wind would make me worry about would be ear infections. only if it is really really strong wind.

I'm from a warm climate... but during our 'winter' I still got loads of advice from older people that I should be wrapping him up warmer etc, it got a bit annoying to be honest! I don't see how wind would make him gassing, unless he's gulping the air and swallowing it! A baby is usually warm enough if the back of their neck feels warm. If the wind is bothering him he's probably got a good vocal way of letting you know!

I'm not sure about getting gassy from the wind but I know my 6 month old hates the wind in his face. He complains and whines about it. I too have a plastic wind barrier that I put up when he finds it too windy. I wouldn't worry about it, you son will let you know what he can tolerate.
