if she doesnt get irritated skin from being on your clothes then it wouldnt be a problem to wach them together i do it, as long as they dont get a rash you're good to go

The only reason I wash my clothes seprate from the baby clothes is so I cut the extra step of seperating them. But I have to 2 little babies so its twice as much clothes and always have a full load. Really... stop buying the expensive baby detergent. I never used it and my kids don't have any reactions from the stuff we use.

My daughter has sensitive skin just like me. My mom bought the biggest bottle of Deft so I am using that until it's gone. My daughter is now six months old and I'm still not through it yet! Once that is gone I plan on using the same regular stuff we use. I figure if my skin doesn't react then her's won't either.

Unless there is enough for a seperate load each then I do Lilys cloaths with mine, i just soak them in nappy san overnight first. they are still in perfect condition so I dont see why not!

Put one piece of clothing in with yours, if she has no reaction ur good to go! It's only necessary to use baby stuff if she is sensitive to the usual stuff.

Whats important is that you do NOT use fabric softener or dryer sheets. The chemicals in both actually remove the fire resistance from the babys clothing.

I started out with a natural detergent but i only used one bottle and just started washing my sons with ours.I think its ok as long as your baby dont show any reaction to it.some babies can be really sensitive, but if you hold your baby against ur clothes alot whats the difference?

I just buy the free and clear stuff and wash everything with it. Just abotu every major brand now has one (Tide, etc.) and they're not any more expensive. Better for your skin too!

Unless they have allergies to normal soap there is no need to wash separately, we have water restrictions in Melbourne Australia so separate washing would be wasting water, and besides you don't need the extra work with a little one.

I was using Ivroy baby soap then I was staying at my moms house and didn't have any so I used sunlight and it was fine... my advice would be to try a small load and have you child wear those clothes exclusivly for a few days and check for rashes or skin sencitivity. Remember alergies and sencitivities don't always develop the first time they incounter something new it may take a few days to be sure- that's why we have the 4 day rule when introducing new foods

we use purex baby laundry soap it is cheaper than tide or what-ever so we use it on all of our clothes. We also use unscented dryer sheets. I usually wash his clothes separately (especially his lights he has a lot) I have thrown his darks with ours as long as its not his dads work clothes. We just figured that if you are "supposed to" wash baby stuff in "special" soaps then why not your own does baby not come in contact with your clothing as well. Like I said for the load amount/price it the similar or cheaper than any of the other brands we've seen. Also we buy the baby purex because the unscented soaps have a bad scent
Whatever you do your baby will more than likely be ok if they haven't reacted to your clothing then it is probably ok

i wash both my kids clothes in with our whites. but we dont use any specail detergent. i do it this way so when i hang clothes out on the line i dont have to hang theirs out. that way i have more room for my husband's and mine.

i usually wash my babys clothes seperately when i have enough for a whole load..but with the same detergent only bc they seem to me to be more delicate..but i do wash them with mine sometimes .but i never used different detergent bc the dreft is like 10 bucks for a tiny little container and there is a lot more imporant things i could b buying.....

As long as your daughter doesn't have sensitive skin it will be okay to wash her clothes with yours. I am a nurse in a neontal ICU and we use TIDE to wash our babies clothes and none of them have ever had a problem.

I would check and make sure your baby is not allergic to regular soap befor you start washing his/hers colthes with regular soap. If you can't do it Purex makes a baby soap that is scented and is about 3 or 4 dollars as opposed to Dreft which is I think $10.

you could use All free and clear and not worry about it ive been washing baby clothes and the only reason i have done it seperately is because i have to get stains out but im sure there is no reason to worry about it

Nope. Baby detergents are expensive versions that have no dyes and fragrances. Most babies aren't sensitve to either one usually, and unless you notice rashes or redness, there isn't any purpose. The regular detergents that are "free" are the same thing anyway. I wash clothes together, except for the hubby's work clothes, but he works in a tire and lube place.

we always wash them together .. usually use fairy washing powder as its ideal for sensitive babys skin.

but sometimes we just use our usual bold as the fairys a bit more expensive .. have to be careful though as it can be a bit harsher on their skin.

I just use the cheapest brand of unscented, dye-free, bleach-free detergent and add a little baking soda, which helps thoroughly clean everything and removes any toxins leftover from other detergents. I've always washed all our clothes together. :)



Also, I would never use dryer sheets or fabric softener on baby clothes. We don't ever use them because of all the chemicals that leech into the clothes and onto your skin. If you want to soften the fabric, try adding a little white vinegar to the rinse cycle during the wash. Only if you use a dryer, though. Most of the vinegar smell rinses off in the washer, but any scent leftover evaporates in the dryer.

I refused to buy that expensive detergent. I was all of ours together but I buy regular brand detergrent that is "free"...free of perfumes and dyes. It still gets the clothes completely cleanm, there just isn't that flowery fresh smell.

I wash my daughter's clothes separate but only because we each have a laundry basket and I wash when the basket's full. It makes it easier to fold and put away but I don't use different laundy soap. I use Sunlight and have never had a problem.

I think it matters the age because if they are still young the skin is very sensitive to most things.like my little baby is ten i mix her clothes with her older sisters and all is fine i have enough time for myself

I recommend, if you're going to wash them together, to either buy the generic version of the infant detergent, or to purchase a dye-free, fragrance-free detergent. To give the clothes a nicer scent, I'll toss in a scented dryer sheet because they're not strong enough to leave any kind of residue on the clothes that would irritate baby's skin.

i do wash ours seperatly from our sons because my bf is a smoker- and my doctor said that all the toxins are still in your clothes after you smoke- im not sure whhy i think it could transfer over to his clothes in the wash but lol i keep em seperate either way. but ive never bought another detergent for my babys clothes- i was told its just a marketing ploy and not nessecary.

I wash all of our clothes with a detergent with no dyes or scents, but that is because I have eczema. My son has never had any problems or rashes or anything because of the clothes. I also use unscented dryer sheets instead of fabric softener. That's just me though. I don't think you NEED to buy special baby detergent unless your baby has a reaction to regular soap.

I wash my sons clothes seperate from mine....Nd i use the dreft....I use the dreft because although the adult detergent may not cause a problem when the baby is young you may not want them exposed to the harshness of the adult stuff...But i dont think you have to do them seperate but i suggest for at least the first 10 months to a year. If you do use the adult stuff be sure your child does not have sensitive skin nd try not to use harsh detergents...ALL is not a harsh detergent

I never bought the baby detergent. I used the same as we use since we use the one that is free of perfumes and dyes. The baby detergent does actually have perfumes in it. I knew my daughter would probably have sensitive skin like me so i figured the one that i use would be fine and we haven't had any problems and she's 10 months now. I do most of her laundry separate, but mostly cause it easy to do in just one load. Her darks i wash with our clothes.

I would only worry about it if the detergent that you use on your cloths gives your daughter a rash or irritation. Otherwise I would say go for it and cut your laundry time down!!!!

I would recommend buying Tide. It has the exact!!! same ingredients as Dreft, but Dreft has a 'pretty baby smell' to it. Honestly. I do however wash my kids clothes and ours in two different loads. The only thing I do different is use less detergent on their clothes! You will realize very quickly if she has an allergy to it, so all you can do it try!

Ive never washed them alone. I wash everything together with Tide Free, Clorox 2,and downy every time. I have never had any problems.

we started doing this when our son was a baby and washing in warm like they recommend but then realised it is not necessary. We use a natural plant based powder for all our clothes using cold water and only wash the nappies separately.

No, you don't have to wash them separately. I washed them separately with my first child and used dreft, but my second child had eczema and wasn't able to use dreft bc it made him break out. My sons dermatologist recommended that we use cheer free and gentle and to use downy free and clear, both are hypoallergenic and non-scented. I was my babies close and our clothes together.

there are no name versions of baby detergent...i use it for all my clothes. as long as it's dye free and all that good stuff, you don' thave to buy "IVORY" specifically.

i wash my baby's clothes with ours and i use tide. never had any problems. i think the only time its necessary is if your baby is sensitive to the detergent or allergic.

My mom and I both wash my daughters in tide with downy. I was using the baby detergent at first then mom told me it was ok to use tide. My friend also uses the same detergent as they use for their child. And their perfectly fine :) Good luck.
