Yes, very true. Check out the book, "How to Choose the Sex of Your Baby" by Landrum Shettles. It describes the different types of sperm and how to best get the correct gender to the egg at the right time (Chelle, has the right concept).
We used this method. Boy first, then a girl, so for us it was 100% accurate. The key though is to have a very predictable cycle. If you know exactly when you are ovulating and you time intercourse for a few hours prior to, or at the time of ovulation, you will more likely conceive a boy.

According to a friend of the family (also a fertility specialist) the sperm carrying the x chromosome (for a girl) are larger and slower than the sperm that carry the y chromosome. The larger sperm are slower but live longer. They can also live under harsher conditions. There are so many factors that come into play whether a x, or y, chromosome sperm meets the egg. He said that it stills boils down to a 50/50 percent chance.

yep. i used ovulation pee-tests sticks, when it told me that i had stopped ovulating, we had sex, this way the egg is there and the boy sperm can get to it before the girl sperm. if ou want a girl, track your ovulation and have sex two days before you ovulate. that way the boy sperm has died off by the time the egg gets there.
alos, put a pillow under your bum for about half an hour after sex.

@ Jackie.. Im sure Tina is just curious.. How sad that someone cant ask a qn without people being smart about it.. As for being happy with what you get... It is true that every child is a blessing no matter what the gender.. But it is also perfectly fine to want one or the other... If you have a boy first it is only natural that some woman would want a little girl next or visa versa... Am i wrong in thinking that?

No no you must have sex 3 weeks before ovulation!!! Of course its true because the only way to have a boy is to get pregnant in the first place. And since you can only get pregnant during ovulation its safe to assume your odds of having a boy go up because your odds of getting pregnant go up. You can't pick and choose what gender you get... be happy with what is given to you and stop hoping for something that may never happen.

Hi Tina. i have heard that this is true.. Apparently the male sperm swim faster than the female sperm and if you have sex at the time of ovulation it increases your chances of having a boy.... And if you have sex 3 or 4 days before you ovulate and then stop and dont have sex again it is suppose to increase your chances of having a girl... Really i think you have a 50/50 chance of getting either gender no matter when you have sex! But its still fun to try.... :)
