Oilatum shampoo worked a miracle with my daughter. Johnsons baby shampoo just made it worse. So I use this everytime i wash her hair and condition it once a month.

olive oil was recommended by my dr and a few nurses at the hospital. I never ended up using it as I found just a gentle shampoo and a fairly vigourous scalp rub when applying shampoo seemed to wrok just great. It sure got his hair to fall out & regrow quickly :-)

Wal-Mart carries a brand called Gentle Natures and they have a cradle cap shampoo that works really well. I put it on my little ones head and used a fine tooth comb to gently scrub it off. Make sure to rinse it really well or it looks greasy afterwards. They also carry a lotion for excema that I put on after I wash his hair and it seems to help keep it from getting as bad.

I tried baby oil, olive oil, and different dandruff shampoos on my daughter, but the only thing that worked for her has been hydrocortizone cream! Our pediatrician prescribed a 2% strength, so we use that sometimes and sometimes over the counter 1%. We rub it into her hair before bedtime at night and wash it in the morning.

I found that you can use a really fine toothed come in the bath while you have the baby shampoo in their hair, brush the baby's hair in all directions and then rinse it out. Also, try using the baby oil as well but not too much so they look like grease balls....lol

My daughter had mild cradle cap on her eyebrows and scalp...I used a tip that I got from the book "what to expect the first year" and i found that it worked wonders! What you can do is rub olive oil on the scalp about 15min prior to giving a bath and allow it to sit and soften the dry flakes...then comb the flakes out in the tub and wash your baby's hair. I would suggest washing it thoroughly because the olive oil is hard to get out and there may be flakes left in the hair. Hope this was helpful! Good Luck!

My son has dry flaky skin around his eyebrows sometimes and the doctor said it was similar to cradle cap. She said most babies outgrow it around 6 to 8 months and to rub a little vaseline on it. She also said that during bathing to use a baby brush and lightly exfoliate the surface. Hope that helps.
