My son is 4 weeks today. He sleeps really good during the day but when night comes around he doesnt sleep as well. I do swaddling and i try to keep him up during the day by keeping it bright and noisy in the house but it doesnt seem to bother him. All he seems to do during the day is wake up, eat, and falls back asleep as im trying to burp him. My question is, is this normal and will he ever began to sleep better at night?

I am in zombie mode bc of the same thing. I would sleep all day with him but i have a 2yr old so I am up around the clock. Keep trying and eventually he will get his schedule right.

When you were pregnant you may have been more active during the day while resting at night like any other average person. The motion during the day kept your baby asleep and the stillness at night would cause him to wake up and be active. Until he adjusts to being out in the world his schedule will be off. Putting white noise in his room should help with this problem. We tried the radio with our daughter but with the constant changing in tones and volume it wasn't a very good fit. We ended up buying a cheap fan with a filter on it (we have since taken the filter off) to put in her room. The fan makes enough constant, consistent noise in her room that is does block out any noise from outside her room. She sleeps wonderfully. Our new baby boy has fallen asleep quickly in his sisters room the few times I have had him in there while I was putting her to bed because of this I am going to buy a fan for his room when he moves in there next week. It just takes time for a baby to adjust to their new schedule and you just have to be patient. Good luck.

Your son feels safe with the noise around him. Put the radio on classical music and put it in the babies room on really low. Your son will sleep much better as he will not feel alone. All of my kids had a radio on for the first 6 months and slept lovely.
