My son is 7.5 months and the past few days when I go to get him in the morning out of his crib, his hands and feet will be freezing but he will have a big wet sweat mark underneath his head.
Is this normal?

Ok. Here is what I did with our LO the year she was born. She was born small and has stayed that way ever since so what we did before she learned to walk is this. We would dress her in one of her sister's summer thin sleepers, put a pair of socks on her feet over that then put on mittens, and then a winter sleeper over that. Ok, yes that seems like a lot but in reality she slept in a bassinet by my bed until she started pushing up onto her hands and knees. When that time finally came around it was almost summer and we took layers off. I liked being able to reach over and feel her through the night as that many clothes on her made me nervous with the extra blankets we covered her with. She never had any problems and even had a hard time sleeping when she wasn't nice and warmly snuggled. She still sweat a little but most of it was drool. The 2nd winter we had we had her in a big girl bed with her sister in the top bunk. They both liked the extra warmth and even started sleeping with each other during the extra cold nights for that little bit of body heat they gave each other. (plus my two youngest are only a year apart and it is a queen size bed) We use a lot of fleece blankets and no I don't buy them from the store either. :) We go to the fabric store when they are having a fleece sale and buy yards of the good fleece that doesn't fray. They have different patterns, and colors so we can make them tied frilly ends if we want as well.
Sorry, rambling. I hope this has helped. I am always here if you want to hear more. :)

i keep my bedroom pretty cool at night that way i can put a blanket over my daughter. if i dont use a blanket her hands are cold but if its more than like upper sixties in the room she wont sleep with a blanket on. i think it maybe just that the circulation in their hands and feet slow down at night cuz they arent constantly moving so they get cold easier.

Thanks ladies for all the help.
Last nite he had wet the bed cuz his clothes were soaked!! lol all the other times must have been sweat. When his feet are freezing when he wakes up I just bring him into bed with me to snuggle and warm up : )

Yeah my baby is 4 months and her hands and feet are cold in the morning. I think it's normal. She's fine. I usually put socks on her feet at night if her pj's aren't footy pj's. As far as her hands go, there is really nothing I can do about that. Hope this helps a little bit:)

I agree w/the spit up thing, forgot about that. My son has bad reflux and before it was under control I had to change his sheets every morning because he slept through the night, but he also spit up.

Maybe he is just spitting up and then laying in it? As far as the blankets go, I would be careful with too many blankets because baby can get tangled in them. We just went and bought a sleep sack for my 6 mo daughter. She wasn't sleeping well at night because she was colf, so we just zip it up over her jammies adn she is very comfortable now.

My son is almost 6 mths old and I have been noticing the same thing with him, but only when I fall asleep nursing him, and then wake up to put him back in his bed. I live in WI and keep my heat at night at 65, 68 during the day and it still happens, only at night time. I know that everyones temp raises at night time, so maybe this has something to do with it.

My daughter used to have wet spots under her head when I got her ou of the crib but she was under 6 months...maybe 5 months? she wouldnt be super warm though and it was during the winter time...then again our California winters it was no colder than 40 degrees and no higher than like 50 at night....I used to think that was cold...now I'm in Iowa...lol. hmm...now my daughter is 1 1/2 and she is always warm and she sleeps in those pjs with the feet and a thick blanket....and the heater isnt on...maybe my baby is just one of those ppl that were made to be in cold weather. lol.

70-77 is really warm! Maybe try the heat a bit lower and more clothing at bedtime?

He usually wears a onesie, sometimes with sweat pants and socks but not all the time. And we put a blanket over him. He has always been a real sweaty baby. We have to keep our house at between 70 - 77 just for him to be comfortable because when he gets warm he gets cranky!! And when he is hot and cranky he won't sleep.
This has just been happening every few days not all the time. It is a huge wet spot just under his head. His chest and stuff will be warm but his feet and hands are freezing.

My son is almost 5 months old and his hands and feet are freezing almost every morning. I put socks on under neath his blanket/fleece sleepers along w/a onesie. I also take a receiving blanket and lay it over his tummy and slightly tuck it under him, then I take a bigger blanket and tuck it under/along the sides of his crib. We are in WI and our winters suck, I have no clue what I am going to do when it starts getting even colder. And yes, he had the sweat mark as well. I believe like Melissa said it is from laying in one spot for so long. My son's body and head for the most part will be hot, but then his hand and feet and sometimes cheeks and ears will be freezing!

I hear it is...our lo's hands are always warm though...I put socks on him under his sleeper...the sweat could be from her staying in one position all night...I heard that if their neck is sweating eliminate clothes but dont know with this one! Is the sweat mark you are referring to a wet spot on the sheets...that could just be drool...hmm...What does she sleep in and with?
