good morning everyone. I jsut joined this site, and like it a lot. I have a milk supply problem, though, and so far haven't been able to find a solution.

I've been breastfeeding my DD for 7 1/2 months now, and work full time. I pump twice a day at work, sometimes 3x depending on the day. Since Christmas I have had to supplement with formula. I was fine before, struggling to meet the quantity needed but making it okay. Since Christmas, I have gone from pumping 50-60 oz a week to less than 10. One week I was fine, the next, no milk. I even rented a different pump, hoping something was wrong with mine, to no avail. Has anyone else experience a sudden drop like that, and what can I do? I've taken lots of fenugreek and pumped around the clock & fed her as much as I can get her to nurse.

My milk died down at 4 months. It just depends on your body etc.  I had heaps of milk at first, too much even and as i got back into my everyday life which included a lot of excercise and stress etc it just dwindled. My son didnt enjoy breastfeeding either, he so much preferred the bottle with formula and i havent looked back!

I know that i am a young mother but i have had this happen  to me before. I would try pumping for only 20 mins at a time every 2 hours  until your milk starts flowing properly again. Alot  of times when your not pumping frequently our bodies produce less milk. This solution works for me. you pump wait a few hours and pump again it does not matter how much milk you get from each pump it's just the action to trick the body into thinking that the baby is feeding and the body will quickly start to produce more milk.

I am going throught the same thing right now!!! I have been pumping since my son was born and used to be able to easily pump 25-30ozs a day and could freeze a bag a day...now I am pumping about 2-3 ozs every 4 hous...I have to give my son a bottle of formula at night...I started a diet about 2 weeks ago and apparently that can cause a reduction in milk supply...I recently spoke to a lactation consultant about it and they recommend some hebs called pro milk plus I think and said I should see a difference in 4-5 days...it has been 2 days so far...I hope the milk comes back...good luck :

I heard that eating Oatmeal can help. I am going through the same problem but I don't supplement. One day I have a ton of milk and the next not so much. so if you get any advice on how to increase supply let me know
