Losing my hair!

Yes it is normal. You really don't get more hair while you are pregnant. Its that the growth stimulating hormone that you make so your baby will grow stops your hair follicles from losing hair. It makes your nails grow and the other places where hair grows much faster. Its not related to having anesthesia while in labor.

I think it is because you don't lose hair during pregnancy, so you just make up for lost time essentially. I am 5 months post partum and my hair is falling out EVERYWHERE! It is in my car, in my office, all over my clothes, even getting into my baby's diapers.

yep happened to me too.

i freaked out cos i have really long hair and i was blocking the shower drain at every shower and had to clean out my brush every 2 days.

my son is now 7 1/2 months and my hair stopped falling out a while ago but now i have these shorts bits of hair around the edge of my fringe and in front of my ears where my hair is growing back.

a little embarrassing but at least i know it's growing back. lol

omg i thought i was crazy when started to lose my hair.. but all of my female relatives told me it happened to them so this is toltally normal do not worry it will grow back..lol

BUT THE MORE COMMON OF THE TWO IS POSTPARTUM ALOPECIA, VERY COMMON USUALLY BY A YEAR AFTER BIRTH YOU HAVE REGAINED MOST OF YOUR LOST HAIR! Yeah It Is True! My Daughter Is 4 Months & My Hair Is Everywhere! It Drives Me Nuts Cos' I Have To Hoover Everyday & She Likes To Grab it & It Goes Inbetween Her Fingers, But It Is Normal, You Dont Loose As Much When You Are Pregnant & Its Gotta Go Sometime! x

I happened to me in about 3 months while I was pregnant my hair grew about 5 inches. But hairloss is related to the stress of the day. I found that when my mom or someone else was taking care of her my hair didn't fall out as much. We all loose hair it's just stress related when it falls out like that.

My hair started falling out to and my baby kept pulling it and then stuffing his hands into his mouth and I was constantly pulling hair out of his mouth - gross i know, so i cut all my hair off. I now a a short sexy pixi do that requires very little maintenance, i love it so much i probally wont grow my hair long again.

Exactly the same happened to me! My hair was lovely when I was pregnant and as soon as my son was born it seemed like I was going to go bald with the amount that was coming out, I did'nt. It stopped at about 6 months.

It is absolutely true, and normal. A lot of women lose hair just after having a baby. Hormones are settling, because of this all of the hair that you may have gained during pregnancy is leaving. Ive had this happen to me with all 4 of my children. Try not to worry.

I lost a lot of hair after I had my daughter, but that has stopped now! I think a lot of my problem could be that I ALWAYS wear it up because my daughter likes to pull!!

It could also be lack of protein. I've lost so much hair, and I know I've had issues with low protein and low iron too.. It's something too look at.
