I have tried everything from mosquito nets to zappers but I cant seem to stop the occasional mosquito from biting my baby, his tender skin becomes swollen and red! I was wondering if there is a repellant or some safe way to keep mosquitoes from attacking!

Calamine lotion is the best. Just make sure they don't get in their mouth.

try rubbing your baby with lemongrass, it's what they do in thailand. I've also heard that rubbing peels from a citrus fruit works but I've never tried it.

If you do use DEET or a product w/DEET in it besure to only apply it to an infant between 6-4 months of age ONLY ONCE a day! These products are safe for an infant over 2 months of age. To be effective, repellents must be applied to all exposed skin (avoiding hands, eyes and mouth on infants). Another important thing to keep in mind with repellents is that more is NOT better! DEET will keep mosquitoes from landing on your skin, but they may still fly around you. So if you see mosquitoes around your baby, that does not mean you should apply more DEET. As long as they don't land on baby and bite, the DEET is working.

BOUNCE SHEETS!!!!! I found out from my husband's Grandmother, stick a bounce sheet in the back of the diaper and you're good to go. If bitten, white vinegar. Hope it helps :)

Thans Erica and Kristin, he is just 3 months old so I was afraid to use regular repellants, putting it on his clothing is a good idea

I use Natrapel on my son and his clothes. I won't use anything with DEET on my kids skin. Have you called your pediatrician about this?

How young is he? You should be able to use Off! or another repellent, just spray it in your hands to rub it on him, or what I used to do is just spray his clothes before we went out, he's so small that it repels insects from biting him at all. Just make sure you don't get it on anything he puts in his mouth or on his face anywhere. His scalp is fine and back of his neck too. Good luck, I swell like I have a hive if I get a bite, I hate it for babies :(
