i started with pablum (naturally) then meats, before the sweeter fruits. i found it worked best with my 2nd and 3rd after having the same issues you're having with my 1st. Just keep at it, be patient, and try having a short break between attempts. She'll take to it, just takes time. Maybe try the hams? They're a tiny bit sweeter than the other options. Might work if the sweetness of the fruits and veggies is what she's loving, compared to the more 'bland' meat based foods.

When I started to feed my little guy they told us to start with meat. But, I would suggest, if she is eating rice cereal, to feed her the cereal then gradually start adding meat to it. Start with a few mouthfulls of the cereal, then add a small amoout of meat to the bowl..then a bit more. My son barely notice a difference this way, its how I introduced all his foods:) Good luck!..oh yeah, and smile. If you look uncertain, so will they.

My son will be 10mths in a few days and he wouldn't est solids of any kind until a few weeks ago. We tried various types of baby food, made our own, what have you. We would try, then take a week off and then try again. Finally I guess it just clicked for him and he'll eat anything we give him. You just have to be patient. They take to it eventually - but it'll be on their time!

I recommend not trying the 'strained meat' jars... as my son LOVES meat and he wont even eat those... try mixed veggies and turkey or something, they usually take to it better like that! (better taste... i don't blame them...lol) hope this helps:)

My pediatrician told me to wait till my little one was nine months because meats are much harder for babies stomachs to digest. So if your little keeps refusing just wait it out a while and try around eitght months or try mixing it with something else that the baby likes. As long as your little one is getting breast milk that is the main source of nutrition until the baby turn one:)

this is common. try meat and veggie combos. my baby loves all of the Gerber combos like chicken and vegetables, beef and vegetables, chicken and rice, chicken noodle.... there are several to try. My little one will only eat these at 10 months. I can mix veggies with chicken or turkey and she will eat it, but not alone.

we tried meats starting when we started his other foods at 4 and 5 months but he never took to them, we kept trying them every so often but he never ate them, finally i lookeed it up and it is suggested that you dont start your baby on meats until there 8 or 9 months

No need to rush it. Our pediatrician doesn't recommend meats until 8-9 months, so neither of my kids had meat that early. In fact, we started veggies and fruits at 6 months so they were barely eating THEM at that age.

my daughter does the same thing she is also 6 months old, I have just waited and I try like once a week maybe twice. I'm also a first time mom, so it's really just trial and error.

Have you tasted the meat in the baby food jar?? It's disgusting, no wonder the poor babies don't like it. You can try to mix it up with some sweet veggies or even apples if you feel like she has to have it.But don't rush her. My pedi said we can wait until 8 months for the meats. If you feel like she will be missing out on the nutrients meat offers, just find some substitute foods, like chick peas and tofu, buy a baby food grinder and mash that up. I plan on making my baby's food so I bought one at Target for 10 bucks and it works wonders.

With my daughter, now 12 months, I made her baby food...when she goes to grandma's she has jars...but we have always done second and third meals which is a combo of veggies and meat...she loves them!!! Anyways I would take a serving of pureed chicken or beef and mix it w/ 2 servings of veggies and then she would finish off dinner w/ fruit!!! When we first started meats I tried to give her pureed ground beef it was like grainy and she couldn't seem to get it down w/out choking...so that was when I started mixing and we haven't had any problems since!!!

I had the same problem with my daughter who is now 2 years old, my auntie suggested that i blended it till it was puree/paste and mix it in with mash or baby rice etc, now my daughter loves meat along with all other food groups

they have by beachnut its called night time i think.. it has turkey and sweet pot mixed my son wont eat the plain ones but he loves these.. give it s try.. or just mix with something she likes.. good luck

I wouldn't rush it or push it. I don't think they need meats at that age for development - try again around 9 months...that worked for my son.

My daughter is almost 8 months and will not eat the meats either! She makes the worst face and almost pukes when I feed it to her. She loves her fruits and veggies! I have even tried mixed veggies with meat and she still would not eat it. I don't think it's a big deal for them to have it. As long as she is eating the fruits and veggies then I wouldn't worry. Just take a break and try it again later. That is what I have been doing, but so far no luck for me. She is growing great and is perfectly healthy without it so I am not too worried about it myself! My daughter will be 2 in a month and we have finally started giving her meat. We tried to keep her more or less vegetarian for the first two years. She will eat some every now and then but we don't push it. As long as your little one gets protein from other sources (now: formula/BM Later: Eggs, Cheese, etc) i wouldn't push the meat thing unless you eat meat a lot as part of your lifestyle and want her to be part of that.

Don't rush her. Offer meat if you like, but don't stress if she's not keen yet. Most will prefer the taste and texture of fruit and veggie purees at this stage. Babies don't really 'need' the iron from meat until after their first year (that is when their iron stores from birth start depleting) so you've still got plenty of time.

So don't give him meat. It's not a huge problem. I'm vegetarian, my husband is vegan and we are raising our daughter a vegetarian. Don't take it the wrong way, I'm not here to preach about vegetarianism or try to "convert" you or your son or anything like that, but people don't actually need meat, and it can cause more harm than good sometimes (colon problems etc - rare but possible). People usually react by 'oh but how do you get your iron, protein, etc' - it's not a problem - veggies contain iron (especially dark green leafy ones), peanut butter has a fair bit of protein so give him some of that on bread or toast - also great sources are lentils and chickpeas, which my daughter has always happily eaten. Just lay off for awhile til he's older, reintroduce it in a few months if you like, but at least now you know you don't have to worry about constipation or anything!

My son is 10 months old and we had problems at 7 and then 8 months of age when we tried to introduce meat to him. I found that the Stage 2 where they sell chicken with fruit or another type of meat with a fruit or veggie seemed to help my son. I would slowly introduce your little one to meat as well. I mixed in a few bites of meat into applesauce and a little rice cereal. Gradually, I would increase the amount of meat each day into this mixture. Over time my son would keep the meat down. At first when I tried to give him meat he would puke which was not good so I would call the Dr. to see what should be done. The Dr. and nurse recommended to wait on meat until around 9 to 10 months of age. Even right now my son doesn't eat a lot of meat, but he will keep it down when we give it to him with a fruit or veggie basically. Also, I would thin down the meat and veggies or fruit with a little bit of water if it seemed a little on the thick side. Good luck!

I wouldn't worry about it at all- I would say that's still rather early to be pushing meats anyway... just keep on with the fruits and veggies and the meat will come in time- my first daughter didn't start solids until 6 months and my second about 5 mo. she's 11 mo now and didn't start meats until 8 months... wasn't interested- she's enjoying everything now :)

I wouldn't worry to much about it. You usually don't want to start meats until they have experience with different fruits and vegs. Just try different fruits and veg's with different textures. Some come with small chunks of fruit which will then get your child used to the texture of meat products. Try to do only one or two "new" foods at a time just in case there would be an allergy.

My son is 11 months old, with meat i got sausage meat am put a little of it in with the veggies to blend it up with gravy, an now he eats it just with gravy and without veggies blended together but at first he wasn't a big fan of it but slowly like it, i tried it every 3rd night just need to make sure its a fine as the other baby food

u should try at least once a day... meat is rather hard to get a baby to eat... it isnt as liquidy as fruits and veggies... it has a chunky texture that babies dont like... try once or twice a day... every day... dont force it if she doesnt want it... but she will soon learn to aquire a taste for it

Most dr.s suggest waiting until about 8 or 9 mons to introduce meats. They are harder for babies tummies to digest than the fruits and veggies. Also, you should start with chicken, then beef, the pork/ham products. as Chicken is the easiest to digest for young tummies and pork/ham can sometimes cause some problems. I would probably hold off for a few more months. Also, the texture of the meats is often unappealing to younger babies.

I love BLW, so my daughters first meat was a chicken drumstick. I just handed her the whole thing (with that tiny bone removed) and she loved it. We started meats at about 6 months and 2 weeks, but had been doing BLW since about 5 months.

Continue to try to feed her the meats but don't force her to eat them. You also might want to mix the meat with something she likes such as carrots or applesauce. In time she may grow to tolerate meats. Just keep trying!

Just give it a try every once in a while. No need to rush it, many people don't feed meats until after a year, and some raise their kids vegetarian or vegan. Just keep trying. With my son we mix it with veggies. I will mix it with sweet potatoes, carrot, squash, pretty much anything. He will eat it straight though, my son is 9 months and hasn't turned down anything!

Omg. Brycen also turned 6 months on the 21st, and he won't any meats. I think you should gradually try to work it in a few weeks. I wouldn't push it everyday, especially if your introducting alot of different foods. I attempted to give it to Brycen a week before the 21st, and he hated it. I think i'll try again next week though. Hope this helps.
