My baby also closes his mouth to solid food or throw it. What I do I boil vegetables like Carrot, pumpkin i blend it like a soup then i feed him by bottles, i also put a spoon of milk for infants together so as to change the taste of vegetables. In my opinion is that in anyway we feed the importance is that he is getting the nutrition he needs and as he grows up he will know how to eat like an adult...

Don't force her to eat! Babies know how to regulate they're caloric intake. If she is not nursing or taking a bottle or eating anything at all, then I might be concerned. Mine is 9 months old and sometimes just doesn't want solid food either.

im reading everyones advise looking for a solution of my own. My 8 month old turns away the majority of the time. My doctor says to force him. The nutritionist says I need to get on textured foods too. But neither of them are here at meal time to see what it is like. I hope your princess starts to find an interest in eating!

Is she in on fingers food yet. My daughter started doing that cause she wanted to do it herself and now she feeds pretty much everything herself and she's almost one.

im having the same problem at the moment! he's still having his milk though and he won't turn away a dessert. but its becoming a struggle just to get him to eat a few mouthfuls .. i feel like im wasting food especially breakfast cereals since he'll only have about 3 spoonfuls.

i've tried giving him the bowl to feed himself but most of the time it goes everywhere!!

however we've now found that he'd prefer to have finger food .. so at tea time i'll give him basically the same as what im eating and i'll let him try to feed himself .. he seems much happier that way i guess .. makes him feel more independent.

how many oz of milk is she taking a day? as sometimes my son will only take 2 as well ..

but as long as they're getting at least 15oz formula i wouldn't fret too much.

try handing her a plate of what you're eating cut up into smaller pieces ..

I wouldn't worry about it. My son wouldn't eat till he was a year old. As long as she is having her milk. Try her with fromage Frais as my kids loved them. She definatly needs more than 2 bottles. If she has teethers, try putting some on it for taste.

That is not enough nutrition for an 8 month old. She should be getting more than two bottles especially if she is not eating any solids. Add in some additional bottles and discuss her eating habits with her Dr.

Talk to her pediatrician...mine is 16mths old, and I am still having trouble for some reason! Maybe it's a "spurt" that our kids are going through!

I assume she is still nursing or taking bottles just not solids. It is normal for a baby to not have interest in solids at this age. Keep offering fingers foods and when she is ready she will start to feed herself. My son didn't start having any interest in solids until around 9 months (and he still won't eat anything from a spoon). Some babies don't have interest until 12 months. It just depends on the baby.
