So I took every precaution in the sun the other day at the beach with my LO who is 6 mths old. He wore a hat, we kept him in the shade 98% of the time and when he was in direct sunlight I lathered him down with sunsreen.....Well The one area I missed was right under his eyse and a bit of his forehead that I guess was exposed despite the hat....I feel sooo bad now! It didnt seem to bother him, however today he has been particularly fussy, either over stimulated from the beach trip or the sunburn...
Has anyone else ever had this happen?

aloe lotion works miracles AND its all natural. my daughter got a burn as well, even though she was only in complete shade.

I don't know how early you put the sunscreen on him, but it usually takes 15-20 minutes to absorb into the skin. So, you are supposed to put it on 15-20 minutes prior to going outside. To help ease the pain from the sunbuyrn, you can give him children's Tylenol and put some aloe vera gel on it. The aloe with help soothe it, but you may need to put it on a couple times an hour to get the full advantage of it as it absorbs into the skin relatively quickly depending on how bad the burn is.

Forgive yourself darling. No parent is perfect. I am sure you will be more careful next time (although it sounds like you are already more thorough than I have ever been!). I don't think this will affect his chances of becoming president. ;)
