and all he said was he has to fight it off.. thats fine but any tips on helping him through his cold so that he will sleep? he has a runny nose,cough, and think his body is sore any advice on how to confort him? he needs his rest to get better but he wont sleep and im out of ideas also he is 5months one week and a day old

Try a vaporizor and children's tylenol, that always help my daughter with fevers and soreness

you can try a vaporiser/humidifyer to help with any congetstion. i use baby vicks as well to help with that.
panadol or nurofen to help bring down the fever and ease aches and pains. i use pawpaw ointment under my daughters nose to stop it getting sore from being wiped.
and lots of cuddles and feeds.

When our little one had a cold we gave him Calpol before nap times to help reduce his temperature and control pain. Also we found that reverting back to just bottles (as he was on solids and milk at the time) helped as that gave him comfort. The only other thing you can do is give them lots of cuddles and reassurance - even if it means lying next to them while they do nap - children are really clingy when ill and a little bit after.
Always keep an eye on him as well if his symptoms worsen do take him back to drs as babies get really sick really quick.
