my daughter barely drinks her bottle anymore

She will be 7 months on the 25th, and since she turned 6 months and started jar foods with the cereal she doesnt want her bottle anymore. She will have 2 oz of formula mixed with the oatmeal cereal and 1 oz of jar food mixed with that. She eats it all and then doesnt want the bottle. I've tried making less cereal/jar fod mixture to see if she wants more bottle, but she doesnt. She'll only drink like 1 oz and be done. I know its very important for her to still get the formula but she isnt interested.. any ideas? The only time she gets the full 6 oz bottle is when she wakes up around 4am, she'll drink the whole bottle then go back to sleep.

Maybe you could alternate one feed of solid with one of formula? She does need to drink her milk as the main nutrient food up to the age of 1.

I think its too early for a sippy. Her high chair leans back so i usualy give her the bottle after she eats cereal and let her drink it, but then she just wants to play with it. I try feeding her but then all she wants to do is sit up and then shes sucking in air.

She is little yet, but maybe try the sippy cup. The ones that are simular to a bottle top may work best for her starting out. She might like drinking it in the high chair as you feed her. Or it might be just another thing she has fun throwing on the floor and making a mess with.

My daughter is 9 months and does the same thing. She really doesn't like to drink her bottle. she has a bottle in the morning and at night about 4-6oz each and then doesn't really drink a whole lot during the day. She has about a total of 14-16oz. When i give her a bottle i kind of have to work with her to get her to drink it cause she doesn't like to just relax and drink her bottle.

Try giving a little formula first, then the solids, it works for my son.

my son also stopped drinking as much milk when I introduced solids,but ask your doc how much milk she should be getting at this point. `Is the cereal with the milk and fruit all she has all day? or do u give it to her several times a day, does she eat anything else? Maby decrease the amount of food and see over time if she will drink more milk.. talk to your dr.
