thanks for all the help everyone. my son is on soy and took him to the dr yesterday and he does have a mild case of acid reflux. she did put him on a RX to help him. so hopefully this works. hes 21 lbs at 7 months so hes gaining weight good.

A newborn's digestive system isn't fully developed. The muscles at the bottom of your baby's esophagus, which control whether food is coming or going, may still be getting up to speed. We had the same problem with our daughter until she was about 9 months which is when they're usually fully developed! As long as you've ruled out acid reflux?... and ur son is gaining weight steadily and on schedule?..... I hate to say this but it's pretty normal.......it can be frustrating and messy but he'll grow out of it! Hang in there!

some babies just spit up...if your baby is on formula, i would make sure it isn't one of those high iron fortified name brands...i think they can be too strong and cause stomach upset...Parent's Choice is a good basic formula...if he is eating foods, they might be too rich for him...i wouldn't be burping him as that could also be upsetting him and most babies can burp themselves by a couple of months...perhaps a second opinion if those things dont help i would get another opinion as there may be a tummy problem or abnormality that is causing this...all the best

My daughter did that a lot, we had to switch her formula 3 times until we got her on Soy.. and once she started eating more solids it did the trick. It could be the formula or possibly acid reflux... I hope it gets better for you.

It sounds like he only spits up with the formula and not the solid food. Did your Dr. have you switch formulas or check for acid reflux? Maybe he has an intolerance to the formulas. My son had acid reflux for the first 4 months, he is 9 months now, and was on medicine for it but still spits up often. From birth to 4 months I was changing bibs and shirts probably 8-10 times a day. My Dr. said some babies just spit up a lot and some don't. Just a few ideas. I hope it gets better soon.

hes eating a jar of oatmeal and apples in the morning (7-730) or oatmeal and prunes (hes been constipated) then around 10 he gets 4 oz of formula (spits up about 3 oz) then 1-130 he gets lunch which is either a veggie and fruit (1/2 of each) or a veggie and a meat and then around 3 he gets another 4 oz (and spits up 2-21/2 oz) then around 6-630 he gets dinner which is a jar of turkey n sweet potato and 1/2 jar of fruit and then before bed he gets 5 oz of formula and then spits up almost all of it ** this is what his dr told me to do**

Is he eating ANY solids? If so what and how much?

(I have a son who went through this very problem, but before I write you a whole book (lol) on my experience, I'm just curious what things you've tried or haven't!)
