My son just started crawling and he seems to bump his head soo much, when should you take him to the hospital when they bump there Head?

He bumps his head at least twice a day becasue he doesnt look while hes crawling, so my concern is how do i know when a bump is serious enough to take him to the hospital. He fell right off the bed today and i was devasted but he just cried for a second then on he went crawling again so i asummed he was fine. When is it fine, or are there things i should be aware of or look for when he bumps himself???

Both my kids did that and actually I drive people nuts when I say this. But with my kids as long as both eyes are dialating, they're not bleeding, and they are going straight they're fine. If one of those isn't applying and especially if he falls asleep right after bumping his head take him to the ER right away.

My 2 yr old hit his head ALOT!! and still does on his clumsy days. Watch for his eyes dialating if the are not dialating take him to the ER. If you are really worried about him when he hits his head and his eyes ARE dialating keep him up for a minimum of 2 hours before he goes down for a nap or bed time. The reason you look to see if his eyes are dialating is because if he hit his head hard enough he could get a concusion. If he falls asleep when he does have a concusion then he could go into a coma. Baby's hit there head muliple times a day. Listen for the REALLY HIGH pitched scream that indicated that it hurts. Good Luck.

The only thing I know to watch for is if one eye dialates and the other doesn't- then get to the ER asap! Other than that, bumps to the forhead are no biggie. The back of the head is more sensative, but again can handle a lot. If you are really concerned, call your pediatrician and see what they advise.
