My son is 2 1/2 years old and has been potty trained since he was 2 years old but he just recently started peeing the bed at night and sometimes during his nap time. We cut off any liquids an hour before bed but he still does. Anyone have any other ideas of what I could do or does anyone think they know why he has started doing this? Thanks!!!

It could be due to a change in his life, emotions, lack of control. He could be sleeping harder. There's a part in our brain that decides what is important enough to wake us up for when we are sleeping...maybe that part doesn't feel that going to the bathroom is a big enough deal to wake up for anymore. I wouldn't suggest putting him in good nights if at all possible only because it can possibly give him reason to or help him or encourage him to regress back into diapers. They do have plastic underwear things that you can put over his underware so he will still feel wet but the plastic pants should catch the urine. Have your son help change the bed when he wets the bed ( i would use a plastic matress cover to protect it). Reward him when he doesn't wet the be. Stickers, fake tatoos, small toys things like that do well. Maybe even candy like he can have one M&M for not weting the bed. You can even make a chart and give him a sticker for the chart every time he sleeps without wetting. Tell him that you will take him to Chuck E Cheese or buy him something if he makes it he makes it for so long with out having an accident...If it gets bad enough, they have alarms you can buy to wake him up when he has an accident. It's not really a big deal or anything to worry about until they are about 10-12 and still wetting the bed. We just tell my son that he can't have anything to drink after dinner. That works for us! Put those good nights on him. He may be having some dreams with water or having bad dreams that may make him pee. Otherwise you could put one of those mattress plastic covers on his mattress.
