My son is now 5 months old and just hates taking naps. We try everything we can think of to help him fall asleep when he is tired but i usually resort to letting him nurse. He latches and suckles for about a minute and is out. He has no trouble at bedtime but just fights his naps. Is there a "magic" trick i should know about? lol Please help.

there is nouthing wrong with leting your little one feed to go down for a nap my daughter wouldent go to sleep unless shes was latched on its an insercuty thing they no that while they are attached to you carnt go anywere but some also just like to fall asleeo with a fall tummy

My 5 month old hates taking naps too. What i've resorted to is everyday at about the same time I close all the curtains in my bedroom (it gets pretty dark), turn off the music, get the warm fuzzy blanket that he sleeps with and a binky. We lay in bed under the fuzzy blanket and he nurses until he falls asleep. Then I wait another 10 minutes or so and swap my breast for the binky if he hasn't already let go. I then either stay and na with him, which you might have to do to begin with, or get up and leave as quietly as I can, making sure the blanket is snug around him. Sometimes I put a pillow where I was laying. the whole process can take and hour or more, but he'll sleep for 2-4 hours if I'm not noisy.
I think it's just comforting for him to be with me, and when we're both under the blanket he gets nice and warm, plus the dark and quiet helps him sleep. If I take anyone of thoe things away it doesn't work (so no naps at grandma's).
My bed is big and he doesn't roll yet, so I don't mind leaving him in there by himself in the middle of the bed.
