My 10 week old is on breastmilk and Similac. She was having a lot of issues with the Similac which were all the symptoms of milk protein allergy, so I switched her to the Isomil by similac. It has no milk protein and no lactose in it. I have found she has a hard time pooping and its really stiff and shes acting the same! I have been using the playtex dropins bottles with the bag dropins hoping that the bags with no air in them would help her with some of the gas. But still no different. She always has a fussy time in the evening but this is every time I give her the bottle. She sticks her tongue out and wont let me get the bottle in her mouth. Finally after 5 min of screaming she finally takes the bottle because she is startving. I hate to keep switching her but I dont know what else to do! Any information or your thoughts on certain formulas would be greatly apprectiated!

I had to switch my daughters formula about 3 times and she went from Enfamil A+ to Good Start and she is much better on it.. we also have almost every kind of bottle in the cupboard. She has Dr. Browns, Born Free and Evenflo and the one she likes is the Playtex nurser with the drop in - liner. every baby is diffrerent on what works for them. My cousin told me to use the Dr. Brown bottles they were the best but my daughter hates the size of the nipple. it is a hit and miss gamble but hopefully you will find the right combo. it just takes alot of time and patience. just remember to change one thing at a time and give it a change to make a difference before you give up on it and make more changes.

Hey Krystal, my baby is only 3 weeks old and I have her on Nestle Good Start liquid formula and I'm also using the Playtex drop ins. I found that my daughter was having a lot of gas and was showings signs of colic. She was also having fussy spells starting around 12:00am and lasting until 4:00am. My doctor also gave me a sample of this natural formula homeopathic medicine (non-prescription) called Cocyntal, which can be purchased at any Shoppers Drug Mart. It's for baby colic and is given when the crisis occurs. I have used it a few times and within an hour she calms down.. always worth a try. Lastly, if suggestions don't seem to help, I would agree with Emily to ask your baby's doc. Good luck!

My son was the same way! He had a really hard time pooping. So I switched him to Enfamil Lower Iron. He's been great ever since!! The other formula had too much iron and he couldnt digest it! Some babies are like that. As for the bottles I would just use toe plain bottle. I hear the drop ins are not very good. Ive bot Cameron differnt bottles and he didnt like any of them only the cheapest ones I could find!

Could you go to just breastfeeding her? If so it would probably solve all of your issues, you would have to feed more frequently for the first few days or so but your milk would catch up.

i use enfamil premium lipil for my little girl, never had a problem with it...its what the hospital was giving her. i also use the evenflo bottles, they are just cheap walmart bottles but never had a problem with them. ir ur baby is having really bad gas and its making her really grumpy, you could try giving her a couple drops of infants Mylicon gas relief drops. it works pretty great and is totally safe for them. it was a life savor when my daughter was really small and got grumpy cuz of gas...also my mom(who has 6 kids) says that the iron fortified formula tends to make the babies very constipated and if at all possible try to give them something without so much iron in it. i started my daughter on juice, she has a bottle of juice a day, and she is never constipated. but most people are against giving babies juice sooo....

my daughter was BF till 6 months then I put her on Similac as well, she would constantly spit up and I noticed how frothy it was. I ended up getting a sample from Heinz Nurture Formula and decided to give that a try, it was soooo much different. No more spit up! I also use the Platex bag drop-ins and still do, we decided to switch formula b4 we switched bottles. Good luck, and it takes a lot of trial and error, in fact I mentioned the spit up to my Dr. and he said just that!
