He is almost nine months of age now and I have been breast feeding him up till now but unfortunately I keep getting mastitis so I have to give it up. I am giving him Iron enriched formula for enfamil or how ever you spell it. But he wont eat it becasue it taste awful compared to breast milk. Is there a brand you would suggest to get him to eat it because it doesnt taste like crap? Or any suggestions on how to get him to eat it? He eats from a bottle like a champ its only the taste that throws him off. Thank you for your help!

i exclusively pump and during a period where my milk dropped randomly, i had to supplement with formula once a day until i was able to get my supply back up...my son also refused it (i don't blame him, the stuff is really disgusting)...the only way i could get him to drink it was to mix 2 ox of formula, and add 4 oz of breastmilk to help disguise the taste. you could try that, and slowly increase the amount of formula in the bottle.

have you ruled out the posibility of thrush? thrush can be present even if baby has no symptoms and thrush with ductal involvement can be the cause of ongoing issues and pain.

My son is on the calcium enriched formula of enfamil. At 9 months, you can maybe just switch him to milk. I can't remember whether it is 9 months or 10 months that it's safe to start giving them homo milk. check with your doctor, but that would be easier since then you wouldn't have to switch him twice
