Quoting Alexis :

it could definitely be the things you're eating.. just a suggestion- but with my mom being a holistic health therapist, we eat according to our blood types.. for example, i'm an ab, and i shouldn't eat any chicken or beef... turkey is highly beneficial to me... certain foods that are deemed as "healthy" may not be for you... my dad's an a blood type and he shouldn't be eating any red meat or potatoes... or any wheat products or dairy.. my mom was a size 10 before she started eating this way and is now a size 4... and it's easy to ease in to it, you just have to cut out the biggest problem foods once you figure out which blood type you are and slowly begin cutting them out of your diet.. even some fruits and vegetables are good for some one blood type but not so much for the other... and some blood types require completely different exercise routines.. with my blood type, we should do more laid back activity such as yoga or golf... where as an O blood type should be more competitive and active... when i had Riley i was around 150 or so and in a month and a half i was back to 127 and into my size 3 jeans again just making sure i was eating the foods i knew were highly beneficial to me and avoiding those that were on the "avoid" list for my blood type!

well my blood type is O so gotta be a bit more active then lol

You may want to change your birth control method...if you're on the Depo shot, it will be harder to get the weight off. Other advise, drink lots of water, and walk,walk,walk..it helps to clear your mind and gives your plenty of energy(natural endorphins) once you get past the pain, aches, and itching on the first day, tell yourself that thenext day it wont hurt as much and that you can do it quicker. Keep building on that(i.e.: walk around the block 2 times and build from there) before you know it, you'll be walking 4 miles and the pounds will have melted away. Thats what I plan on doing to get my baby weight off this time. My daughter is 4 mos. old and I'm 237 lbs, the weights gotta go!!! LOL.!!! Oh and another tip, take prenatals.....take one in the morning with a glass of water, and make sure that your breakfast has good protein source...like an egg/onion omelete. Good Luck!!!!!

there are actually books with the diets in them, the books for just your blood type are like $2 or $3 - and then there's a big book with all 4 blood types in them, it's up to you and what you'd want to research, possibly look into diets for your baby too, it doesn't just help with weight, but it also does wonders for like colds & different illnesses, my daughter's going on 11 months and she hasn't had any sickness, no colds, no ear infections, nothing and we've been feeding her according to her blood type... if you can't find the books let me know, i'll see if you can just email my mom... she may be able to help :)

No weird diet needed. Just make sure you eat a LOT of fiber. There is a "fiber added" oatmeal by Quaker Oats, fiber plus bars, regular old apples, Fiber Plus "pop tarts" (though they aren't actually Pop Tart brand, they are right next to them), Fiber/Whole wheat added pasta noodles, etc. If there is a "fiber added" version of a food you eat, then get it. Bran cereal too. I have All Bran every morning for a week, it doesn't take much for a serving so it shouldn't be too much of a "punishment" (have it with coffee or juice). You'll need it to get things started though, and while it isn't a large quantity, it will stay with you for a while so your next hunger strike doesn't hit you as hard and you are more able to make a smart choice when you go to eat again instead of grabbing the quickest thing.

Watch your portions. The great thing about fiber rich foods is that they fill you up longer so you won't get shaky or irritable between meals. You know that feeling I'm talking about, that nervous, light headed, growling stomach empty feeling. If you can give yourself strictly fiber rich foods for three days in a row, you'll start to notice "results" as your body will remove more waste than food you are putting in it. This is a good sign. When that starts happening, then you can eat other foods that you like intermittently so long as portions are very small of it, so watch your portions on fast foods and the like. Crave McDonalds? fine, but get "small" everything. Then the next day, eat only those fiber rich foods again. It's really not complicated, if you have crappy food one day, go the next day with high fiber foods all day. You don't have to be as careful with portions but you'll find over time you don't need as much AND you'll start to crave those bad foods less often, not to mention you'll learn to feel heavy and lathargic after eating them compared to the fiber rich foods.

Another unexpected benefit is that I've gone an entire year without depression. That's a first for me. I struggle with bouts of depression ever since I was a teenager. This is the first year I went without a rough patch. I know it has to do with the fact that I've eaten less processed foods than ever in my life.

My biggest hurdle was not the food I was eating, but WHY I was eating. I ate when I was bored, stressed, excited, stressed, tired, stressed....you get my point. Pay attention to WHY you are looking for that next snack. It may be emotional too, so prepare yourself for unexpected emotions behind the eating. Keep your hands/mind busy, get out of the house to avoid the cabinets, take a Power Bar with you to avoid the restaraunts while you're out. Get/start a journal or get out the scrapbook you've been putting off. Have something else there ready to engage yourself in besides the food.

I tried to keep everytime I ate to a 200 calorie MAXimum. It went: 200 calories, and then next meal 4 hours later, 200 calories, next meal 4 hours later and so on and I tried to not eat after 6pm unless it was fresh fruit or a power bar with water. If you're serious about it, you'll make those 200 calories during the day count instead of grabbing a pop tart or donut or hot pocket. Have some fiber added maple brown sugar oatmeal with a spoonful of peanut butter melted in. It tastes like cookie dough. :) It will be challenging at first though, to go that long without food if you're eating for the wrong reasons. So be ready like I said, to occupy yourself.

You'll have to really recalibrate what you consider "a meal", it is not what Olive Garden says it is.

Also, there is scientific proof that fewer calories per day is healthier and prolongs life.

My daughter will be a year old this month on the 24th and I am 10lbs less than my pre-pregnancy weight today. At my last day of pregnancy I was 217 lbs. I was 172 before I got pregnant. I am 162 now. I aint afraid of a number. I own it! : ) It wasn't easy, I spent two years tracking my meals and what foods worked and what didn't, to finally figure out that my body needs a boat load of fiber to "move" things normally. Ironically, it was the recommended food lists they give you in the pregnancy books that helped me catch on to it. Eat as though you were pregnant (and that doesn't mean cravings, that means eat the healthiest foods for your body during pregnancy) I haven't been this weight for 6 years (got complacent after marriage) and now I'm losing weight effortlessly while still eating out, eating Halloween candy, and eating fried foods, I just watch the portions. (Think: the size of your fist when eating crap food). I haven't even started working out yet! So more to come probably. My goal is 145 (I'm muscular, I go by my body, not the number on the scale). I've tried everything before, but when my diet became fiber rich, it made all the difference. And here I was resigned to thinking it was all down hill when I turned 30. I haven't lost weight like this since I was 15! So much for that old wives tale.

My pregnancy also seemed to "unkink" issues I was having with my thyroid too. I think a combination of the natural hormone surge and this change in a healthier diet fixed some problems naturally before they turned more serious, including diabetes and anemia. You can look all these things up online. Not just my word.

1. Fiber

2. Fiber

3. smaller portions

4. 200 calorie max per meal

5. if you eat something "bad", then eat fiber rich foods strictly for all the next day. (2 days is best! but work up to it)

6. FIBER

7. Drink as much water as you can first before having soda/tea/coffee

8. Try not to eat after 6pm unless its fruit or a power bar

9. Don't punish yourself if you cave. Just start again the next MEAL (not "day) and take it one meal at a time. there is no sense in trying to deprive yourself, it will only cause problems, so just try to balance out your meals, 2 fiber rich meals for every fast food moment, you'll gradually find it easier to go longer inbetween the "bad" choices.

10. A "meal" doesn't mean 7 courses. Sometimes it can mean a piece of fruit and a drink. Change what "meal" means to you.

good luck!

Eating foods according to blood type? That's different but it may be what I need. Is there any way you can point me in the right direction as to who I can ask about my bloodtype diet? (I'm O pos)

Good suggestions, also maybe try an excercise routine that you like. I do a combo of bellydance and yoga and it really helped me lose the weight. also the bellydancing helps with the stomach muscles and flattens it out with a combo of a good diet.
