We just recently had a baby boy in February. We named him Ayden David. The other day he was crying and i needed help getting a diaper. so i had asked my 3 year old daughter to go get Ayd a diaper. Boy did that hit me, that his nickname wasn't going to work! Ayd = AID....Doesn't sound that good! Is there anyone out there that can give me a good nickname for him?

My daughter's name is Brooke-Lynn, and everyone always calls her Brookie or Brooke-star. I call her Brookie Boo or just Boo.

My bestfriends son's name is Aden and we call him "Aid", I think it's cute. Doesn't sound bad...But, like others have said a nickname doesnt have to be a shortned version of his name.

my son Owens nicknames are Monkey and hungry hippo.. sometimes you can nickname them by a habit or funny thing they do.my son is my monkey because when he gets hungry he waves his arms up and down like a monkey climbing a tree. lol.. and hungry hippo because he eats ALOT. his daddy calls him lil man. my best friend calls him corn-nut. because our other frined had a baby beore me , she called her baby peanut- and wanted to call mine some sort of nut too for some reason..lol people come up with the funniest things.

Thanks everyone! When i found out we were pregnant again with him, i had asked our oldest what we should call the baby (not knowing the sex yet). at the time she was obsessed with this book called "Gossie" , so she said the baby's name will be Gossie. The whole pregnancy he was referred to as Gossie. i guess now that i think of it, that might be his nickname! I just think its so sweet that she picked out a name for him!

Nicknames just naturally form... his will come. My daughter we call Squid and Squidney.. her real name is Sydney. Her father just one day called her Squid cuz she has always been a tad skinny and lanky. We were watching Ice age (1 or 2 can't remember which one it is) and Syd says something about he will have to become a squid when all the ice melts... well boy did my family find that lot more funny then everyone else. Our sons nickname is Pooh.... as in Winnie the Pooh.. but in reality he got the name cuz I would say "oh what a shit he is" and my hubby said you can't keep calling him that.... and Tada... Pooh was born! His other nickname is Giraffe because a neighbour couldn't remember his name and knew it started with G and was some kind of animal. His real name is Gryphon.

you could call him "den" (or denny) instead of "ayd", or call him something not related to his name at all, my sons name is Conner, and only grandpa calls him by a name-nickname, Connie. I call him scoob, bud or monster.
it's up to you!

Well my 2 kids ended up with well odd nicknames. My daughter I started calling Bump before she was born. All the weight I gained went straight to my belly and it looked like a big bump. Then when my son was born he always made a snorting noise. So I call him snort. So there is my kids, Bump and Snort. I know, I know it sounds like were cokeheads but the older they get the less I call them by those nicknames. Usually I just call them by their names:)

I love your son's name. Sometimes there are just names that are great the way they are. However, I have heard that you can use his initials as a nickname. For the longest time, my mother-in-law wanted to call Drew A.J. (his middle name is Joseph.)

We have a similar situation with our daughter. Her name is Fiona, and people have started calling her Fifi. It sounds like a French poodle, not a little girl.
