on the 15/12/07 i had a normal day went to my mums then home and had dinner and sat in front of the telly for a bit, I got really sleepy so i had a sleep about 2hrs later i woke up to my phone ringing it was my mate asking how i was doing as my due day was on 13/12. after about ten minutes i had to go to the toilet really bad, so i hung up and went and as i wipe my self i had my show and looked at the time it was 10;30pm so i went to my mums as it was 5 minutes walk from me and told her as i was feeling ok she told me to go home and get some sleep as it could start any time soon. I went home and went to bed at 3;30am i woke to really bad pains , they was about 15 minutes apart so i got up and made a hot water bottle and sat on my sofa trying to relax, after having contractions for 12hrs and nothing happening i went to the hospital and they said im not ready yet so go home and if the contractions get to bad have a nice warm bath. so i went back to my mums and i most of had 5 baths. Everyone was going to bed as it was really late i tired but couldn't get any sleep and at 3;30am on the 17/12 i phoned the hospital and got told to come in as my contractions was 5 minutes apart.. I was told by the midwife that my waters had not broke so they tired to break them but they couldn't so i got put on monitors and got put on a drip to help speed things up after trying for the 5 time to break my waters they said that my waters must have broke already. i tired for two hours to push my baby out but he didn't move as he was facing my back when he was meant to face my belly. then they said he was in distress and they would take me in to theater and try venter hose which hurt and didn't work so i had to have a emergency c-section when they finally delivered my little boy, the surgeon said that my waters had gone days a go and that he was over due and if they had waited any longer he would not of made it..When my mum saw him his hands and feet were blue for lack of oxygen and his skin was all flaky where he was over due.. and after all that no one came to take to me about the birth and i got post natal depression as a result of everything that happened...I am fine now and have a little girl who is 6 months old my little boy is 2 on the 18/12 and there is not one single thing wrong with him..

WOW that is so lucky that he survived and is ok. It is crazy I was the same I kept calling the hospital saying I was in labour but they kept telling me I was in pre-labour and to stay home.. then they finally agreed to see me and I went in and got on the machine to measure my contractions and I kid you not THEY STOPPED! I felt like a dill..

Then I went home and of course they started up again. I was in so much pain and this was 24 hours later and I had not been able to sleep coz the contractions were so bad!

Finally I called the hospital 34 hours after my initial pains and told them somethign was really wrong.. they again said I did not need to come in, but i insisted that I wanted to come in and get checked again.. so they said for my peace of mind I could come in..

I was talking to the midwife who was standing there telling me that I didn't need to be there but she wuold do an internal exam for me anyway, well what does she find but I am 5cm dialated and will be giving birth within the hour probably!

Then my water broke (like a canal of water which never seemed to stop) and it was all go.. I was posterior like you, the more painful delivery lucky us! My LO had to be vacuumed out, but luckily she came out naturally. It only took 5 hours though so I am lucky there but I had been in labour for nearly 2 days so I would have been too exhausted to deliver any longer!!

Glad your LO is doing well, maaan at least you have a good story!! It is a very positive ending to what could have been quite tragic!
