My bubby will be 8m on the 10th... I believe I have pink eye. It started last night and felt like something was in my eye (I don't wear contacts). My eye became irritated, then this morning it was crusted shut when I woke up and I could feel it oozing, it was running down my face (sorry, I know gross). My eye was so swollen when I woke up that even after applying a warm wash cloth to get the crusties off I could barely see! Now it is opening a bit more, but I still look Chinese (no offense to anyone I just don't know how else to describe it!). I've never had pink eye before so I have no clue if that is what I have.
I live in Wisconsin, in south eastern Milwaukee, we were declared "State of Emergency" last night and right now from the 18" of snow and strong winds, we can't really go anywhere, if you manage to get to the busy roads which are "decent", you will get stuck by the snow drifts on the side streets.
Are there any home remedies? My eye is so sore and I don't want my baby boy or my 5yr old daughter to get it if it is pink eye. I know pink eye is extremely contagious, but how do I prevent from spreading it to an almost 8m old who always slaps me in the face, pokes my eye, pinches my eye, etc... I know he's not doing it to be mean or on purpose.

Thanks, sorry it was so long just wanted to describe it incase some one knows what it is and it is not pink eye.

I put a few drops in with a medicine dropper each feeding and then always let her drink the remainder. She still gets all excited when she sees a medicine dropper!

If you breastfeed, breast milk can cure it... Sounds silly, but I used it on my daughter and it worked great.

Pink eye is really contagious. You'd better become a handwashing fanatic if your kids are going to avoid it! (but maybe you caught it from your daughter?) I've heard that chamomile tea is a good thing to use. Soak a washcloth in it and let it sit on your eye.
Good luck. We're snowed in, too, and I've got a dentist appointment tomorrow! We'll see...

So that will also apply to an adult with pink eye?! I'm the one with it... I have no clue what is going on with it, it's a bit pink, but not red. The outer corner burns and it is still blurry, but I'm pretty sure it is just from the drainage. I'm guessing it is bacterial conjunctivitis seeing as how I have yellowish discharge.
Thanks!
