Please need Help!!! BREAST MILK??

as most of the responses have said, its supply and demand. the best time to pump is in the morning or after you have had a good sleep as sleep produce milk as well. The more you feed the more your milk will increase.

Hope you continue as the benefit to both mother and baby is worth the effort. I am so glad that I continued to try and eventually succeeded.

NURSE!!! NURSE!!! NURSE!!!! -- It's all about supply and demand. Fenugreek could help too, but I would just nurse every possibility you have. - If baby uses a paci, let baby use your breast instead. Your best time to nurse is LATE night (early morning) so just keep going and you should be fine. Also, drink A LOT of water (1+ gallon/day). GOOD LUCK!!

I had the same problem. I became so dehydrated when I got sick (even though I drank a ton of liquids) that my milk supply got very low. The doctor recommended fenugreek for me and also to make sure to continue drinking plenty of liquid. If your supply doesn't go back up, just keep giving your baby what you can and supplement with formula. It may not be ideal, but what you have done for your baby is still going to help them out a ton. I had to give up breast feeding after I was sick because the supply just continued to dwindle no matter what I did, but I just had to find comfort in the fact that I did everything I possibly could. I now have an extremely healthy 9 1/2 month old baby who is already walking and very smart so don't feel like a failure if you have to stop breastfeeding.

First of all, make sure you're drinking more. That alone will help increase your milk production. Also, you can use "Mother's Milk Tea" to increase production. My understanding is there is also a reflux medicine that has a side effect of increased milk production, so OB/Gyns prescribe it to up your supply. However, I've ready that it's a matter of supply and demand. As long as your baby's eating, you'll produce milk. Good luck!

You can also take Fenugreek. I had to see a Lacation Consultant a few times and she recommended it...3 or 4 pills 3 times a day. It is safe and works quickly. You may smell like maple syrup due to taking it. I have a 6 week old daughter who is exclusively breast fed now. hope this helps

I agree. If you have a pump you could pump some to help. You don't have to stop breastfeeding because you're sick. Your body passes antibodies to your baby through your breastmilk to help their immune system. If you don't want them close to you then you can pump and have someone else give them the milk in a bottle.

Just feed your baby as much as possible and your milk supply with come back up again within 24-48 hours.
