I am now the proud mother of a beautiful baby girl who is about to turn 4 months old. I am starting to take a greater concern with my health and getting back in shape, so I have started looking into supplements. The ones I am interested in are kelp, spirulina, and coconut oil. From the research I've done, all should be okay for me to take while breastfeeding, but I woul feel more comfortable if I heard the opinions of moms on here. What do y'all think of these supplements?

I did a little looking around and the kelp and spirulin might actually help improve your breast milks fat content, which help keep our little ones full and satisfied for longer :) i put a link above, they don't really mention it in pill form per say they talk about them as part of the "green drinks" that many people like for getting the benefits of eating their greens without actually eating them :) thought you might like to take a look.
Hope things are going well :)

Since you are breastfeeding taking any suppliment is rarely advised since there is such little actual research into what afftect it might have on our little ones and how much really gets through in the milk.

there are a few resources for you. The suppliments you mentioned don't spark me as risky but my only caution is to be careful trying to exercise and lose weight while breastfeeding since it can reduce your quality and quanitity of milk if you try to do to much too fast.

I am slowly losing weight and breastfeeding myself and have had my little one freak on me when I pushed it a little to much :) you can try www.myfitnesspal.com, it's a good little resource for food and exercise tracking and it's free, you can even account for the extra calories you need to keep breastfeeding and lose some weight. I have lost 6lbs in three weeks and baby is still very happy with my milk. The only suppliments I take are omega 3/6/9 and a liquid multivitamin :) Our bodies can only absorb so much at a time and in a day so sometimes too many suppliments just make expensive pee lol :D

Good luck on your journey to a healthier you!
