Hello :)

My 8 week old had his first jabs 4 days ago - afterwards he slept pretty much for a full 24 hours, only waking twice briefly to feed. The last couple of days he has been pretty normal, but today (day 4) he just wants to sleep all day again and no matter what I do he's not staying awake for more than 15 minutes at a time. When he is awake he is alert and happy as normal.
Do you think this could still be the jabs affecting his sleep pattern? He didnt suffer any redness or pain at injection site and only had a higher temperature for a day before it settled. Normally he would be up a lot more during the day.
I'm thinking I may be in for a long night - just when I'd got him sleeping through pretty much and being more awake in the day!

Thank you very much! He slept all night as well apart from one feed but has been VERY awake today. He has developed a sniffle today as well so I'm wondering if he wasnt feeling well anyway.

I agree sounds like a growth spurt and it is about that time for one.

It sounds like it's more of a growth spurt than because of the immunizations. my daughter was sleepy also on the day of her shots she's 4 months now but right around her two to three months of age for a couple of days she would sleep most of the day and we were told it was because of her growth spurts which they do around that age. she is in the 75th percentile with weight and 65th with height so just perfect. if you are really concerned you could always call your doctor just in case, better safe than sorry hope this helped.
