Really bad baby brain...

I've had 2 kids in the past 2 1/2 years and nursed them both and currently nursing my youngest. I don't know if nursing effects memory like pregnancy does but just thought I'd throw that in there in case any of you know. I constantly feel like an idiot because I can't remember the simplest things. I have to write down every little thing I need to do. I will lose my train of thought in the middle of a sentence and even have a hard time carrying on a conversation with people I've known for years. My son is almost 6 months old. How long will this go on for? Will it likely last for as long as I am nursing? (NO, I'm not going to stop nursing if you say yes lol) Have any of you had this and when did you start to feel back to normal again?

I googled momnesia and got some pretty good info on why it happens and when I can expect it to clear. And yes, nursing does make it last longer. Thanks!

I don't think we ever gain back the brain cells that we lose during pregnancy! lol

More seriously, you're not alone. I find myself silent all the time, cause I forgot what I was gonna say, and I get the strangest looks....I'm still breast feeding though, so maybe that's it...

I had this happen to me also. Of course I have three kids so I have yet to get "back to normal" lol.
