My LO will be 2 months on Wednesday & was diagnosed with reflux a month ago. He is on zantac, alimentum formula & we were just made to add a teaspoon of cereal to his bottles to help prevent excess spitting up or projectile vomiting. My ques is how long does ur LO go between feeding? . Mine will take 3-4 ozs every 2.5-3 hours. I've read & talked to other people who say a baby should be able to last an hour for each ounce of formula. My LO definitely can't go 4 hours if he eats 4 ozs. I know he may just be a hungry guy but curious

My little guy had reflux too. At 2 months he was definately eating every 2-3 hours! I also don't agree with the cereal in the bottle yet as he is just so little yet! My sons reflux was absolutely horrible! He puked probably 10 times or more after every feed. It was heartbreaking, but eventually he grew out of it around 7 months. But yes, just feed him when he seems hungry instead of watching the clock. It's alot less stressful that way.

I always fed on demand. My daughters had acid reflux too and the more they spit up, the more I had to feed them, according to my doctor. I can't believe they told you to put cereal in the bottle! That is SO dangerous. He could choke and not to mention his stomach isn't developed enough to take cereal yet. Did they talk to you about these risks? Where do you live?

It just boggles my mind when doctors suggest to give cereal. There are other things to use that won't harm him to thicken his milk, such as thick it.
