Reflux Solutions?

My sweetheart has been battling reflux since birth and now she is 13 weeks old. She doesn't have the painful episodes (where she's trying to get a gas bubble settled) nearly as much anymore, but she is still spitting up very frequently. She's a "happy refluxer", but I hate it. I feel bad for such a good and happy baby to be going through this! We have tried almost all kind of formula, she's on prevacid and the doctor's say that a GI specialist isn't needed yet....she'll grow out of it. Is there anything else that I can do to help her now?

If you see this, leave this form field blank.

My son had worse reflux than he does now. doesn't get too many episodes any longer but here are what our pediatrician recommended to us for my son. He was not given any medication because she considered his case "mild" but we tried everything she told us to. We started adding 1 TBSP of rice cereal for every 2 ounces of formula. He was first on regular similac, then regular enfamil, then enfamil gentlease (lilac colored) then on the orange enfamil. those didn't help much with his constant burping, vomiting, so she finally suggested similac soy formula. this helped him so much from one day to the next, so we kept him on this. after feedings, we'd make sure to burp him and then hold him up for 20-30 minutes. As he's gotten older, he's rarely had any reflux. I think its true how they say that they grow out of it, but I still here it once in a while even though he doesn't cry like he did as a baby. right now he's sick and with his cough, you can hear the reflux in his chest, but poor thing doesn't even cry!

good luck!

my girl is 11 weeks old and was bringing up her milk all the time i had to put her on karicare reflux formula and now she doesnt vomit at all they do say the should grow out of it by bout 6 months but every baby is differant if your breast feeding there is a thickner you can add to expressed milk, i put like a brick under her one end of her cradle dont do that anymore, also after a feed hold them upright for bout 30 mins before putting them down to sleep i found that helped alot before putting her on reflux formula

I'm so glad I saw this I was about just post the same question. My son is 6 months old and they now think he has reflux. He started on zantac and that didnt work , now he is on prevacid. He doesnt through up alot, but he will no longer sleep on his back. He will go down in his crib for 1-3 hours then wake up screaming and throw up. The only way he will sleep is in his carseat. I have tried the "ramp" sleep positioner, but it doesnt seem to help. Any suggestions of what else I can do?
