Ok so i have heard alot of people say they put rice cereal in a baby's bottle at night, i want to know if anyone does it, and what it does. I looked online and alot of people from said they have done it and the kid sleeps longer but then i see where people ask a "dr." and they say its not good. Any advice would be nice, never thought about doing it to my baby but i want to know other peoples opinion.

I put cereal in a feeder bottle for my son. It didnt do anything, he didnt sleep any longer like most people say...

You should ask a dr but it's not good for baby. Babies should not be on solids until 6 months - it's tough on their tummies. The rice cereal helps them sleep longer but they don't get the nutrients they need. It's best to stick with breastmilk, or formula if you use that.

Yea i personally dont think it's a good idea, a baby is going to wake up and eat, its what they are supposed to do. Yeah you might not get your good nights rest like before, but if you thought you would, then you shouldn't have had a baby :-P

You really need to talk to your doc. first. It is not recommended to put cereal in a bottle unless a doctor has told you to do so. If a baby is waking up in the middle of the night to eat, they need that milk. Milk is the most important thing. Milk is what makes them grow and develop and has the nutrients they need. Cereal is for babies 4-6 months old that have the developmental skills to eat with a spoon, and digest the cereal properly. Cereal does not make a baby sleep more.....in fact it can upset their tummies and make them be awake more. ALWAYS check with your DOC. BEFORE introducing anything new to your babies diet. There are allergies and other risks for starting things earlier than recommended.

don't put cereal in a bottle its a choking hazard, if you want to give your baby cereal then do so on a spoon, BTW its a myth that it helps babies sleep longer, if they are going to wake up they still will wake up
