I am watching my cousin and she is 3 months old. They just told me she eats 8oz of formula every 2.5 to 3 hours! I find this extreamly shocking since my son is almost 7 months and eating only 5 oz every 4 hours. But he is breast fed. Anyone else think this is off or is this normal?? I just watched her two weeks ago and she was only eating 5 oz and it was every three hours. I think if they keep going by 7 months they are going to be feeding her 2 bottles!

My guy is 4 months and has had up to 10-11 oz of breastmilk. Every time i bring it up to his doctor they say "Give him as much as he wants" He usually sucks down 8 though but its a growth spurt. They do that around that time

She told me today that her ped told her to add some cereal to her formula because she is eating too much. Today when I watched her she ate 10oz at one feeding! I am just amazed because she is so tiny and I just don't know where she puts it all!

My daughter is 4 weeks old & she eats 4-6 oz  every 3 hrs..If she sleeps 5 hrs it can be up to 7 oz...As a concerned mom spoke with Family Doctor and she advised me daughter has an appetite most likely a growing spurt. As long as healthy I dont think its nothing to worry about.

I didn't know if it was normal for a baby that small to eat that much, but I never formula fed my children and he didn't eat 8 oz until he was about 10-11 months. Maybe it is normal for formula fed babies. Of course I fed her what they said, it's not my child to decide how much she should eat.

Hi there. My son is almost three-months old, and he take 4-6 oz. of formula every 2.5-3 hrs., and sometimes up to 8 oz. if he's really hungry or going through a growth-spurt. I'd say if that's what she's taking, then that's what she needs. By 7 months her parents should be introducing solid foods, so she will eventually need less formula because she will get most of her calories and nutrients from baby food.

I don't formula feed so I am not sure but when I do pump because i have to go somewhere my daughter usually only gets between 4-6oz and she is perfectly content.

8oz seems like a lot but i guess every baby is different
