Should I switch to soy based formula?

I am currently pumping breastmilk for my almost 3 month old baby, but just don't have enough for 2 feeds in the night. I at first was supplementing with Similac Advance, which made him constipated. Then I switched to a low iron enfamil, which was alright but was causing gas pains. I figured I would switch to nestle good start to bring up the iron a little bit, and then I would use that when I stopped pumping. However, after I feed him in the night he gets very gassy and fussy with this formula as well. Has anyone switched to soy based formula because of gassiness, and did it help?

Just curious why you're supplementing and pumping? Try this-when you finish pumping, keep pumping for another 3-5 minutes. That might help. Also what kind of bottle are you using? some bottles cause them to inhale more air with their formula which can cause gassiness. I like the playtex drop ins because it means the only air she is inhaling when she's drinking is from around the nipple just like if she was nursing.

I would also suggest to stop chopping and changing his formula as that will upset his tummy too.

I had a strong feeling my daughter was lactose intolerant and switched her to Lactose Free Formula when she was 8 weeks old with no issues since. We have tried twice to put her on normal formula but no go, her system just doesn't like it and she gets constipated, but on the Lactose Free no problems at all. Funnily enough she's handling baby yoghurt just fine!

with my son we switched him to soy formula at about a month and a half old.he was pretty sensitive but alot had a reflux problem, at about 7-8 months old he went on regular Enfamil a+ and tolerated it no problem, sometimes they outgrow their sensitivity sometimes they dont.. Now at almost 12 months old he is on whole milk...but we have a great deal of consitpation issues with him that is originally why i took him off soy,he wouldnt have poops just hard poop balls, the dr wasnt concerned at time as long as he was still pooping.

Soy products in infants are controversial. I uses Enfamil gentle ease for my son. I think it was also low in iron. But, it is a bit greasy to clean out of bottles. I will get the link to the best ever bottle cleaner too!
