sleeping because of a growth spirt?

My three month old daughter has been very sleepy for the last two days. She has slept deep for about five hours, both days. She is still eating very well, no more than usual, and is not running a temperature. A friend told me not to worry, it's probably a growth spirt. Is this pretty normal?

my daughter is 7 months old, pretty much never takes a nap and when she does its short. but when she hits a growth spurt that nap turns into four or five naps, and the time of the nap increases from 15 mins to an hour or more. its totally normal. although she eats more to, but thats usually after sleeping for a few days. but every baby has growth spurts, although not all of them act the same during them im sure. but 3 months sounds right for a growth spurt.

Hi my son is now 4 months and has done this extra sleeping things a couple of times, all he wanted to do was eat and then sleep, no playing or anything, I was told it was a growth spurt I think at around 3 months and I think it only lasted for 3 or 4 days... so enjoy it haha, but if you are worried then visit ur doc, but my experience of this is a growth spurt as they grow and develop more in thier sleep if that makes sense... they need sleep to grow. Cheers

i've known kids to eat more during growth spurts, but in my opinion the sleeping is also what their bodies need and if she needs more sleep, and there's no fever and she's not acting strange, i'm sure she's fine!! it's great when they get that extra sleep and you get that extra break, so enjoy it!! :)
